Top 3 of PSU, ND and Stanford. Wants offers from UNC and Virginia.

As a sophomore, Adams rushed for 2,177 yards and 28 touchdowns averaging 8.2 yards per carry. He also scored on two kickoff returns and a punt return.

Looks more like a WR... and not a very fast one either.

Boy...some teams had some long nights against this kid. I think with the long strides he's deceivingly fast.

Per Scout: seems to have lots of PSU love, likes their new staff's excitement, closer to home and they were the first school to look at him. He tore his ACL last October, he is still recovering and won't take visits until he is fully rehabbed. He does want strong academics and that is where ND and Stanford really come in

@TomLoy247: On The Road Update: Sat down with #NotreDame RB target Josh Adams today. My thoughts - On The Road Update: Josh Adams via @BGInews (VIP)

Would penn state take this kid and Robinson?

Yes. Penn State has made him a priority. This surprised me a little because they already have two RBs committed.

PSU, Pitt, and ND standing out. Has interest but ND will have to pick it up if he is who the staff wants.

His head coach is close with Hiestand. They coached together at Penn.

Scout: He will meet with the staff in the next week to finalize things. He has adjusted his planned visit from May to June (assuming the camp)

According to Sampson its for the camp. He doesn't believe that we'll recruit Adams at RB, and I agree with that. I think he could be a LB/S type in BVG's new system ala JO or Turner. When Loy went to visit him he came away very impressed with him physical build. Let add that Sampson believes he's closer to 6'3 than 6'1.

Is anyone else recruiting him as a defensiv player? How does he feel about that? I would imagine that he wants to play RB.

I'm not sure, I haven't seen anything that would address that question. I'm not sure that matter though either. If he doesn't want to play another position then he goes to another school, Kallen Ballage.... The staff will probably make a decision on this in June and we'll get our answer then. When I watch his tape I don't see a BCS level RB. I see a very good athlete, maybe the best on the field, playing RB.

Have to believe the staff has already conveyed that to him. If he was set on RB, then I'm not sure we would still be in his top 3?

Samesies.

If he was willing to hear them out, you never know I suppose. I'm sure the staff would be happy to sit down with him and his folks and explain the opportunity. Also, maybe even go over tape and show him why he is a better fit at a different position.

I'm getting way ahead of myself, but it wouldn't hurt to room him with RB recruit turned all american-potential 1st round pick KRuss.

Or... he'll just end up at PSU once Franklin lies to him about where he will play.

Keep in mind that nobody has said that the staff has spoken to him about that. Sampson is saying that he believes that because of his opinion of him as a player, and I just said I agree. Josh himself has not said that ND's staff has said that.

Couldn't agree more on those two topics. Hopefully when we work him out he sees that.

Per Loy "had a blast" on his 1st visit to ND for irishinvasion

I like hearing that. Would people here be good with Adams and Williams? I know I would. Ideally I think Parks/SoSo and Williams would be the fan favorite, but if you were to tell me right now we could have Adams and Williams, I would be all in.

I hope he can put on 50 pounds with that 6'1 frame. He's awfully skinny (and tall) to play RB. I'm no recruiter or film professional but he runs too straight up like GA3 and seems to go down easy. Could be because of his frame but JMO. He is fast AF though.
