Josh's game would have been most impacted by McG & Q's departures. Different type of holes next year most likely. Josh looked like Eric Dickerson running through the Philly-Jersey Tunnels those two opened.

I'm curious to see what he runs at the combine.
Not many guys caught him from behind.

Best of Luck 33, I'll be rooting for you!

If we stay healthy we won't miss him IMO.

I just put 100 vbucks down for Dexter as heisman.

As far as the missing goes, there is no “we” in your point.

Josh was a boss for ND and worked his butt off to add to our success.

As for Dex, it is possible to want success for both athletes.

Your money means nothing, but I’m all for Dex balling out next year.

Best of luck moving forward, Josh. Thanks for your efforts these past years, and especially for bringing some extra excitement back this season!

I love Josh and wish him well but I don't see him being successful at the next level. He is very reliant on having a great offensive line and doesn't seem to be able to create space or slip through small holes. His lateral movement is weak and he is not overly fast. He's simply never going to play behind a line as (relative to the level) great as ND's and a case could be made he won't ever play behind a line as great as 2017 ND's period ever again in his life.

IMO that's why it's more important to leave early. He can pay for Senior year at Notre Dame with a week's paycheck. He needs to cash out now and if he gets to his second contract, then he's really set.

Could ND’s o-line beat the Browns though?

Josh Adams, RB, Notre Dame
Height: 6-2. Weight: 225.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
Projected Round (2018): 3-5.
Josh Adams, a power runner with some quickness, has a decent shot to be chosen in the third round this April. There's a chance he could fall into the early stages of the third day of the draft, but I'm fine with him declaring because of his position. Running backs tend to get hurt more than any other position, and Adams is coming off a great year (1,430 rushiing yards), so he had little else to prove.

Grade for declaring: A-

Don’t mind Josh leaving cause he gave us his best and obviously played hurt from time to time. Can’t say the same about ESB not to mention his punky bro stiffing us and a legit degree.

Very smart move by Josh. I wish him nothing but the best. I outplayed my expectations a dozen times over. He was a great leader and represented ND very well. Good luck at the next level, young man.

Hate that he didn’t get drafted, but I completely understand why he left early. Wish Josh all the success in the world, whether that’s in the NFL or after he returns to ND to get his degree.

Very happy for Josh. Definitely a "long haul" guy and hope he gets all he wants and succeeds on and/or off the field. Go #33 and Go Irish!! Cheers!

Really nice to see... Go #33!!

My two biggest WTH moments in recent Irish history were CJ Prosise to running back and the Josh Adams offer. I know nothing! Cheers and Go Irish!

That sentence defined his entire ND career. If he stays healthy he can be in the league for a long time, great pickup by Philly as an UDFA.

The funny thing about Josh's success in his first outing is that they were all basically the slow-developing stretch plays that killed our offense at times last year.

I guess experience running those plays helps, especially with a full NFL offensive line in front of him lol. It was surprising to see him stretching it out and getting around the end successfully on each of those. I also think the OT's, whoever they are, look like quality depth for Philly, based on how they're setting the edge on those plays.

I don't think we knew how worn down/injured Josh was in the back half of last season. I think that was a big part of why he wasn't making the edge in the latter part of the year.

Always thought he'd do well in a scheme like the old Denver Broncos, one cut and go. Adams reminded me of Terrell Davis. Seemed to always run well when we went under center. Glad he's doing well with Philly.

It's shocking to me that the 49ers and Redskins didn't make an attempt to claim him.

Packers too

I bet some teams just view him as a injury risk and don’t want to waste their time

Still doesn’t pass the common sense test for him. He looked good in preseason
