Lol Not trying to stir the pot, just thought it was an interesting comparison. First time poster, long time reader! I’m happy to be able to join the conversations on here and disagree with everything Koon says.

New guy knows his way into everyone's hearts.

Although I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's actually Koon KD'ing us.

Hope he starts the second half. Gabriel's stats are pitiful 3/13 105 yards 1TD 2 rushes 17 yards. Gotta think Brandon can do better than that.

He's just not that good. and would venture to say not real bright to transfer where he did. Go somewhere you were guaranteed to play.

Some rumors going around the UCF rivals board that he could be converting to WR. I don't buy it, but interesting none the less.

Sooner or later, that will be his reality. I hate it for the kid but can’t say it wasn’t expected. I’ll never understand why he picked UCF.

ND QB's are no different than anyone else back east. When they retire they move to Florida.

Question is. . . Will Book go to The U, USF or Freshwater Tech?

Haha remember when folks here were up in arms at the thought of him switching positions?

He really got hosed in this whole transfer situation. Kind of shameful, IMO. They recruited him HARD. And then they start a guy that goes out and loses to Pitt because he is young and the coach wants to build for the future. Most players would've told them to pound salt on switching positions, but maybe he sees it as a good way to possibly make it to the NFL.

It's his only chance to make it to the NFL IMO. Great kid who deserves better.

I'd really like to know what they told him about their offense when they were recruiting him and he was shopping around. I wonder if they told him they'd build around the QB run game, which they used very effectively in '17 and and early in '18, or if they told him he'd need to come in and prove he could throw it.

I thought he made a great decision, because I figured they'd still be running their offense through their 'power iso' and 'QB power-O,' which suits Wimbush's skillset perfectly as an elite runner.

But now it seems his lack of accuracy as a passer has hurt him again.

fell behind Mack when he returned from his injury. Mack is the guy who took Milton's place last year when he got hurt.

Hope Wimbush went to UCF for the education.

Think about it...with all the injuries to skilled players this season, Wimbush could have easily cross trained at WR or RB and would have been in the two deep if not a starter. Worked for Arnaz Battle and he went on to have a successful NFL career.

I guess I don't get the feeling sad for him. He's just not that good of a QB, and got benched again after given an opportunity to take the reins. I commend the coaching staff for giving him another shot at a different position. He's clearly a good athlete with the ball in his hands (and not throwing it).

Hes to good of an athlete to keep off the field, especially at an FCS school. We was a winner for us, he can play major college football, just get the ball in his hands.

He's not going to the NFL. But I'd bet he will be very successful in life.

Agree Wimbush sticking at ND and moving to whatever position we call Avery Davis would have been interesting, though sometimes - especially, it seems, with QBs - it may be better, locker-room-wise, for the old guy to move on.
That said, these 5Y QB transfers really don't work out all that often, do they?

If only we would've begun crosstraining him at RB sooner. He could be filling a big hole for us and serving all sorts of trick play options.

I seriously think he could've learned the RB position well.

Statistically, if you're not good enough to start on your college football team, you're probably not good enough to play in the NFL. There are notable exceptions (see: Hurts), but if you're the weak link on your team when playing Stanford it's not going to go well when you're trying to play the Bears.
