You guys think Coney takes the majority share of snaps and then some over Martini now or feel it will still be 50/50ish?

I think the next 1-2 weeks will answer that question. In his first opportunity with Martini out, he shined and damn near stole the spotlight as top defender (I'd argue he did).

If he does that consistently then I think it'd be hard to insert Greer back in as starter. I think he'll still get minutes but Coney is beast'n

I don't think Martini is going to be close to 100% for a number of weeks so I think the decision i kind of moot.

Coney played like an absolute beast all game! He was my favorite defensive player of the game. He was intense and unrelenting all evening. As mentioned previously, it seemed he was always around the ball and making tremendous plays. He has been an awesome surprise and I can't wait to see him this Saturday. I sure hope he gets the start from this point out. He brings another level of nastiness to this incredible defense!

I'd be shocked if Martini isn't back by the Wake game. His procedure was very minor. I remember last season Ben Roethlisberger had the exact same procedure last year and missed one game.

Yeah, but this is the same coach who had to have guys miss entire seasons with labrum injuries. Dexter Williams can't play with a sprained ankle. If ever given the opportunity to bet on a timeframe of a player being out due to injury under Kelly, always bet the over.

Sampson noted Martini was dressed for the USC game and went through drills and said he was surprised at how well he was moving. Like I said earlier this was a very minor procedure he had done.

Coney is looking like someone who might play on Sunday’s. Oozes athleticism and is reading the game really well now.

We have a special one on our hands with Coney. It's really fun watching him develop during the season. He should be locking down a starting position.

I screamed loud on that 4 th down stop when he scraped behind the line and plugged his gap waiting on the RB to get there. Haha. Textbook LB play.

I'm not typically a fan of bumping player's threads during the season, but holy hell how good is this guy playing? Nyles Morgan is healthy, and I'd argue he's our 3rd best LBer. Think about that for a second.

Coney was playing on another level Saturday night, and has been a thumper all year. He's the most enjoyable LB to watch since Jaylon in 2015.

Really very awesome to see. I've been waiting for this guy to show up since he was still in Florida.

I think the emergence of Morgan and now Coney, and really the entire defense is due in large part to a DC who understands how to layer learning. There are limits to the complexity, strategery, and schemes based on the time these guys have to devote.

Now we see their measurables and desire translate to production...and it is a beautiful thing.

I hate to think what could happen if he and Tranquill leave after this year. Might was well travel Mongolia by camelback in the fall of '18 if so.
