Pre injury Alex worked his way into the second round no doubt. Now if he can rehab, go to combine and perform non field drills and then perform fields drills at pro day maybe he could go in the 4th I hope.

49ers in the 3rd or 4th to partner McGlinchey.

I’m down with that. One plus going for Alex is he has position flexibility. Obviously can play guard, but could play tackle in a pinch.

In terms of blocking and pass-protection, I believe that we will be fine with Ruhland. What we probably will suffer with is

1). Eichenberg still needs someone beside him to instruct/cover for him on mistakes. Eichenberg is still making errors where the right side of the line is becoming very stable. (Tommy and Quickfoot killed it vs Stanford.)
2). Coach believes that Bars is a HUGE lockerroom presence. We might survive that because it is announced that Alex will still be right there sidelines and all.

If we have a letdown, I don't believe it will happen this next game. The OLine will "win one for the Gimper" for Alex. Look for a big physical effort from the Uglies.

Ruhland did well against Stanford and was quite physical. The bright spot is Trevor is a senior. He’s been here, knows what is expected of him and has experience so it’s not like we’re putting someone in with little or no experience.

I'm with OMM. it think the impact will be more to Eich. Hoping they all come together over this and Bars stays attached to them and vocal in the locker room after this weekend.

Want a 6th year for Alex? Just do whatever the fuck it is Michigan does when they appeal to the NCAA...

Yes I do. Could he get a medical redshirt this year? Would he want one?

He could appeal for a 6th but it's not the typical scenario the NCAA awards a 6th.

Redshirted in '14

Played in 6 games (starting 2) before season ending injury in ND's 7th game of '15

Started all 12 games at RT in '16.

Started all 13 games at RG in '17

Started first 5 games before season ending injury vs Stanford.

My guess is the NCAA would deny it. But it's worth a try if he wants to.

They could argue that the Michigan game does not really count because it is the first game of the season and therefore doesnt mean anything.

Weren't a couple of the newly signed class thrown some shade by members here for having 32" arms?

I believe specifically Kristofic and perhaps Nana were given grief over shorter arms. Both will play on the outside where it's more important. For Bars, it's not as big of a deal, but you'd still want some levers on ya

That's too bad. So unlucky for that kid, what happened to him.

Hope he can recover from this.
