What a pompous asshole. But I guess we can't fault him too much since Lazard is the first ISU verbal who's good enough for other programs to bother trying to poach.

Really. Maybe BK should have called out coaches from across the country that tried prying kids away from him. Welcome to the big leagues, Paul.

Coach,

He's also not going to win a championship anytime soon, but that's a story I'm sure you were upfront about with him when discussing his collegiate aspirations...

But yeah, talk down to other schools partaking in a process that every successful coach partakes in, including not-so-successful coaches. In this context, success is winning games, but then that might be too scandalous or cutthroat for you to discuss without getting upset.

Instead of having a negative attitude about your competition, you probably could have used your time better further elaborating on what a compliment it is to be recruited nationally by many various Universities as well as sharing more stories illustrating the many fine qualities that Mr. Lazard has clearly displayed and will share with your team.

Thanks,

ND Fan and Respectful Admirer of Allen Lazard,

Pachuco

No better way to make your school look small time. Tell you what, none of those schools-you-won't-name would've kept trying to poach him if Lazard wasn't returning their calls... or taking OVs... or, you know, looking around.

Iowa State football, best bang for the entertainment dollar.

My 2 cents.

You can tell Rhoads is a passionate guy when it comes to anything football related, and he should be. I believe he is boasting becuase he probably felt there was a real shot that Lazard would go elsewhere, and was legitimately worried about "The team in northern Indiana". Signing day showed up and he got the confirmation that Lazard was going to be a Cyclone and his passion bled through in his press conference.

Probably motivated because it is most likely the hightest rated recruit they have had in his tenure.

Recruiting is a battle for all schools, but even more so for those of Iowa States stature. When they get a highly rated guy it is probably a really good feeling. This to us would be similar to Jaylon Smith last year in my mind. A highly rated kid that everyone wants. Except in Iowa States case they aren't getting any 5* guys, and a guy like Lazard is a huge recruit for them. Our class is usually full of guys of his caliber, so it doesn't seem as big to us.

ARE YOU SUPPORTIVE OF THESE ONESIES???
I just don't get this type of behavior to be honest. This is the recruiting world, you know what your in for in this day and age. No one broke any rules, and ND has been left holding the bag on or after NSD pretty badly. Instead of making it about the kid and what a great example he is on his big day, this douche blasts other places who just did their due diligence with a player. Small time act by this guy and the move lacks class.
