If Bryant were to commit to ND look for FSU to start making a push for Folston. They want Collins but they would probably try to keep Folston occupied until they figure out what Collins is going to do especially if Bryant was off the board.

But is Folston shying away from either Auburn/SC because of that Williams who is a supposed silent verbal??

If so, and Bryant commits, IDK why we'd still have a chance with Folston.

I don't think I have this right and I'd love for someone to correct me.

It is SC who is shying on Bryant because of Williams, not Folston. Auburn just lost their whole coaching staff.

You're thinking of Bryant. South Carolina is only taking one back, Williams.

Ok, so if Folston commits, then does Bryant shy away from us? I would assume so...

So if Bryant doesn't want to be at SC because of Williams would he be okay with Folston coming to ND?

We've got two RB roles to fill-- Riddick's hybrid RB/ Z WR position, and Wood's pure RB position. So there's room for both, and I trust the staff has made that sufficiently clear. If Folston isn't interested in Riddick's hybrid role, then we probably won't land him.

SC is shying from Bryant because they only want one back. I don't think Bryant is shying from SC in the same way. Further, Folston is a completely different type of back, and can even be utilized out of the slot.

Thank you. If someone would rep him for solving my puzzle, I'll rep you back.

Trying to do an assignment and not think about these two backs behind this class's Oline.

Yup. I'd argue though that we're OK missing/passing on the hybrid spot though with Carlisle and Neal if it comes to that... whereas the staff feels they MUST land a guy who can be a between the tackles runner.

Does anyone understand why South Carolina prefers David Williams to Bryant though? I don't. I think Bryant and Folston are both better than Williams.

I think he is more of a power runner, run people over type of all-purpose back. Even though Bryant is the same size he uses more finesse.

posted on BGI that Folston and Kelly had a "great meeting" today according to Folston's HS coach.

Seriously I can't stop smiling reading these recruiting threads. It has been 19 years of losing. We will be big winners with THE best head coach in the country. Awesome!

I don't know, but it could be a AQM situation. If a "better" WDE came knocking but was not a lock, and numbers were crunched, I would hope we'd still go with AQM.

Visit went well, BK's role in the visit described as a closer. Feels they are close to ending the recruitment.

So, with this and with Bryant coming in this weekend, we're pretty much giving up on James?

James reportedly didn't fulfill his academic requirements. If so, he gave up on us, not the other way around.

If this was already covered I apologize but why does Folston look like a thinner quick back that could play receiver even though he is listed as an inch shorter and the same weight as Bryant?

it says 195 in the first post of this profile but there is no way Folston weighs that much. He's really small. 247 lists him as 5"10, 185 lbs, and I'm not sure even that isn't a little generous. Bryant is 5'11, 195 and will get bigger.
