the players seem to like them, I think they are nice, they should probably only do it 2-3 times a year though.

New uniforms please Irish's players - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

does anyone remember when they wore the all gold for the spring game years back?

I agree fully it's not like we switched anything.... We are just trying to show swagger, and ND has all the swagger...

As long as we stay with Blue/Gold/Green i'm cool, and the adding of a shamrock on the helmet for a game or 2 out of 13 i'm cool...

I love the gold helmet to death, but the shamrock does add some cool Irish vibe to it..

I love em', as long as ND wins they can wear whatever. And its not so much that it attracts recruits but the players love it.

No problem with the unis. Just don't get why the shamrock is a different color green than the jersey. Think it would look pretty sweet with a darker shamrock, but think they'll look good regardless Saturday.

Ok, I get the "clever" gimmick for the Shamrock Series game but did the shamrock have to be so gigantic? If they win, I can live with it. If they lose, next week will be hell on earth and I'll be seeing those blasted St. Patty's day disco balls in my nightmares.

I like the new helmets with the matching Dome color and sparkle just fine. They look good and we've now separated ourselves from teams who have copied us for quite a while, like Navy.
I don't like the hologram effect at all for the Shamrock series and I think the shamrock should be scaled down in size by about 20-30%.

I like the look of the helmets. They are definitely different than the norm, but I am ok with that. The players like them, so who cares? Not a big deal IMO. Also like Kelly's response, we cares what all of us think, the players like them so shut up about it already

This. I really don't have an opinion one way or the other on the looks of the helmet. My reluctance to embrace the shamrocks on the helmet is that it harkens back to a pretty ignamonious era of ND football. What are we trying to do, memorialize some our least successful seasons?

Maybe they are using reverse psychology.

I like the helmets. Something new. Something to talk about. The players love them. Cierre Wood wants a "blackout" jersey or all green option too

I am glad the players like them. One of the biggest parts of a recruiting process is how the recruit feels when he meets the current players. If the players are jacked up and excited about the program it makes for a better sell. Speaking for experience.

You wouldn't happen to be a cop in L.A. that previously played for ND, named Joey Getherall would you? ha

I don't like the shamrocks at all. Looks cheesy to me. I don't understand why we don't put the Leprechaun on the helmet, I think that would look way better. I don't want the leprechaun all of the time but for these once in a while games I think that would be much better than the shamrocks.

The Leprechaun makes more sense when you think of it. Good idea. We all agree this is a once in a while thing, though. I like the idea of a Shamrock series, could re-tool it to Leprechaun series. People are quoting BK that the kids like them and that's important for this weeks game, of course. Still, I really like the leprechaun idea.
