I think there is a decent chance he never makes that Bama visit. A strong visit to ND on the 25th is paramount. I like how this is shaping up.

The board is set. The pieces are moving.

Btw, if Slaughter really is coming back it should be interesting to see how this all plays out. We could only have one spot left with 3 or 4 guys visitings on the 25th.

With our depth at Safety do we have take slaughter back if it means passing up a complete stud.

Who else is visting on the 25th?

Slaughter is a stud. If 2nd round talent wants to come back, you let him come back

I think TP alluded to ND taking 2 or more commitments still, so I'm not sure.

Well this is how I see it. Vanderdoes is the only one that I see making Slaughter not come back, maybe Prevot. I would take Slaughter for another year than take Hollins. But that's why I'm not a coach

It's not a video game, you don't "cut" Jamoris Slaughter for anyone if he wants to come back.

I agree with all of that. I'm not as high on Hollins as others are.

We don't have to, but it seems the staff wants him back. We'll be 10/8 at S in 2013 if he returns, which means a lot of talented kids aren't going to see playing time next year.

We still have one spot left even if Slaughter comes back correct? We can still get a stud and bring back Slaughter.

Based on the recruiting numbers we've all been using, Slaughter's return would take up the spot that would have gone to Hollins or Prevot, but Vanderdoes could still come at the expense of Calabrese or Fox. But it seems that medicals and transfers may open up more space than we've been anticipating.

His post indicated more than 2.

By the same token, he's not entitled to a 5th (or this case, 6th) year. Achilles injuries are very difficult to come back from, and if the staff doesn't think he can continue to compete at a high level, they'd be well within their rights to let him walk. That said, the staff seems to want him back, so there's little point in arguing over it.

Jaylon seems to have made quite the impression. Eddie says "that kid is just a freak athlete. I thought we were a pretty lethal combination on defense."

Yes, yes you were Eddie and you could be for another 4 years.

All reports say he is not leaving. I honestly think it is just between USC and ND.

Serious question, has Alabama ever pulled a 5 :s: recruit out of California?

I don't recall ever but they don't really need too or have had too. There is always a 1st for everything.

I think TP knows something the general public doesn't. And that is that we might have a medical hardship and transfer coming up.

I have no basis or inside information, but I have a hunch that both Slaughter and Calabrese come back, and we take two more recruits. (Vanderdoes and Hollins/Prevot).

Keep having more of these hunches.

Although I am curious why everyone thinks we are going to get either Hollins or Prevot. Both are committed to other places so the odds at getting either would seem less than likely.
