With our depth at Safety do we have take slaughter back if it means passing up a complete stud.
We don't have to, but it seems the staff wants him back. We'll be
10/8 at S in 2013 if he returns, which means a lot of talented kids aren't going to see playing time next year.
We still have one spot left even if Slaughter comes back correct? We can still get a stud and bring back Slaughter.
Based on the recruiting numbers we've all been using, Slaughter's return would take up the spot that would have gone to Hollins or Prevot, but Vanderdoes could still come at the expense of Calabrese or Fox. But it seems that medicals and transfers may open up more space than we've been anticipating.
I think TP alluded to ND taking 2 or more commitments still, so I'm not sure.
His post indicated more than 2.
It's not a video game, you don't "cut" Jamoris Slaughter for anyone if he wants to come back.
By the same token, he's not entitled to a 5th (or this case, 6th) year. Achilles injuries are very difficult to come back from, and if the staff doesn't think he can continue to compete at a high level, they'd be well within their rights to let him walk. That said, the staff seems to want him back, so there's little point in arguing over it.
