I think this would be great. Do we know if he is the one recruiting Nelson? Might this help push Nelson towards the Irish? OC and recruiter leaves, creating a void for him there. What is it with Kansas and the predeliction for rotund head coaches Mangini(?) and Weis.

I might be crazy, but I think USC is a bigger threat for Nelson than UF. Childhood favorites are hard to get over, and not USC's showing him some love. I grew up an Irish fan and if I were a top recruit, there'd be no doubt I'd be Irish if they offered.

Weis doesn't hold a candle to Mangini. Every time I saw that guy on the sidelines, I honestly thought there was a good chance of having to see him in a few minutes laid out on the sidelines, dead from fatness. Either that, or I'd at least see Mangini eating his headphone.
I'd be surprised if this move happened, but I can see it being a good fit for Weis and KU.

Yeah, so long as he sticks with one DC and his name is not Tenuta he should be fine. Would love to see him as a successful HC and prove the naysayers wrong.

As a KU fan I would love to have him. As we saw w/ the Irish, he needs a good DC, and strength coach. He is a smart guy, and I think has definitely learned from mistakes at ND. I would rather have Charlie than Malzahn at this point....I am starting to feel Charlie and I are somehow cosmically (spelling?/word?) connected....First ND, then the Chiefs, and now maybe the Jayhawks?!?!?

RB is definitely one of the few strengths...I am hoping a new coach will be able to convice one or two of the tailbacks play defense and help the team. They have about 8-4 star type players, and 4 of them play running back, and one is an outside backer who was a running back.

I think it will be very good. It's a name. It will make people feel like we made a splash.
That said, ND didn't play that great fundamentally when he was around. His Florida record is mediocre.
I bet it'll be 75% positive.
