Probably people who don't feel comfortable putting their eggs in the MZ basket considering he has only played 6 quarters....
In the limited snaps we've seen from Malik between spring games and this season, I think he's shown more consistency than Golson has in his 2 seasons. Obviously it's a low sample size, but Golson seems more hot and cold through the course of a game rather than an even temperature throughout. For all the talk about Golson's experience and how he has more of the playbook, he can't run the option correctly and he does a poor job with his progressions. Do we really want to bank on Golson and hope that he "gets it" next season with only a year of eligibility left, or would it make more sense to continue to develop Zaire who still has 3 left and shows a much better grasp of how to run an option and go through his receivers?
