Classy move by Miles. I hope Gunner pins this on his mirror. Not that he needs the extra motivation because kid has got it.

I forgot how close he was to going to L$U.

Use to have high respect for Les Miles

Use to have high respect for Les Miles

After this situation, I have lost all of it. What is he getting out of this??? You guys can harp on Kelly's on-field decision making all you want. But, he handled the DGB with great class by keeping his cool.

Les Miles is officially in the Urban Meyer category for coaches that dont deserve any respect...

What a child. The SEC is all that is wrong with the world in a microcosm. Coach cheats on wife with former student who is engaged to another person in the athletic department? Who cares he wins games! Kid chooses to stay home and go to a school with a great education, 100% grad rate, and one of the winningest programs of all time that has produced countless great QBs? HE DOESN'T HAVE THE SWAG AND BALLS FOR THE SEC! For kids to transfer and pull their educational scholarships if they aren't performing on the field? Who cares, they should've played better if they wanted to stay!

It makes me wish the south had won the civil war just so we wouldn't have to be associated with these "college" football teams/fans.

To be fair Craigthorpe seemed like a mature adult when discussing the situation. Miles is a douche, is anyone surprised?

Apparently you can blatantly insult someone, but if you end the insult with the phrase, "I don't mean that in a negative way" then it makes everything okay. I'll have to remember that one.

It's in the Geneva convention, look it up.

Les Miles needs to worry more about getting over the 50 yard line than getting over Gunner Kiel.

I'm all for making fun of Les Miles but making fun of their inability to move the ball against Alabama in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game is just plain silly. Last time I checked we were 8-5 last year

Unfortunately, class is not necessarily currency in the SEC, nor with many of their fans. I have gone to the spring luncheon here in Baton Rouge the last 2 years, it is a Men's luncheon put on by a local family with law enforcement leaders, the mayor, and the head coaches from LSU and Southern. (Got to talk to Paul Marineri formerly of ND this year) Believe me the locals, while they have somewhat accepted what they have in Les Miles they do not respect him like they did some of their previous coaches. They think nothing of ribbing him about his sideline organization of a couple years ago or his ineptitude in the championship game and that is with him present and in the room. (See Bobby Hebert's post championship rant) Despite all the wins Miles realizes he is still an outsider and feels the need to pander to them. Sad.

Well, I was trying to make the point that he should be more focused on what it takes to beat Alabama rather than deriding a kid who decided not to come there.

I just hope he gets caught in the kind of scandal where a fetish to dress up in womens underwear gets exposed via hidden camera . . .

Just goes to show how badly Les wanted Kiel.

It's the only explanation. Why else would he still be talking about a recruit he lost still in April? The dude can't quit talking about it. You would think that he would have enough news about his own players to talk about halfway through spring practice.

How can Les Miles possibly criticize Gunner for wanting to stay close to home? His recruiting pitch to just about every recruit he talks to must be "you can stay close to home" -- his entire team comes from Louisiana!

Seriously. I guess he's the right role model to show his team what kind of "confidence" and "swagger" they need to exhibit, considering his attitude and conduct is more akin to that of my 5 year old cousin and not the head coach of a national championship contending team.

But as Lax and others mentioned, this is the SEC, where the buck stops at the ability to win games. We all know Petrino won't get fired, Saban and the rest get away with horrid academic standards and CUTTING PLAYERS to meet scholarship limits, and Les Miles takes time out of his day to give us some folksy wisdom from down south on why consensus #1 QB Gunner Kiel doesn't have what it takes to cut it for a real team with "clout."

Ok Les. I guess you take the whambulance to and from work everyday, crybaby.
