He sounds like a very mature kid.
He also sounds like a long shot, IMO.

Yeah I agree... I would think that Stanford's and ND's academics are similar enough that ND's wouldn't make him want to drop Stanford. Not to mention the recent success of both their football team and recruiting. Can always hope though... maybe he will see the recent recruiting success of ND, the hopefully good season we put on the field, and the hopeful return to the middle of the pack by Stanford in the era AfterLuck.
Regarding earlier comments too much to quote I believe its:
CAT Drennon
DOG Randolph
MIKE 1) Anzalone 2) Mastrogiovanni: Alex > Jordan
WILL Smith ( but smith could play all 4)
I think his recruitment will come down to performance on the field. We NEED to show some progress on the field this year. No recruit wants to join a program that is stuck in neutral.
I vote that we kick Stanford's *** this year. Who's with me?
Lax has said previously he has driven from the DC area to South Bend many times.
Premium article on 247 talks about Doug wanting to take more visits. Right now he maintains he's still committed to Stanford, but comes out and explicitly states how much he loved Notre Dame and that we're right behind the school he is committed to.
The other schools in the running are UVa, Penn State, and Michigan... with him planning trips to UVa and Penn State.
IMO, the big takeaway from this article is that he seems in no rush to finalize a decision. He's happy staying "committed" to Stanford while taking visits and deciding which option is actually going to be best for him.
I don't expect a firm decision before the end of the football season.
We beat Stanford and were good I think
Does Stanford play anyone cable of beating them besides ND, Oregon, or USC?
What is Power Hour Christian?
Me2SB, he said we need to prove they that ND can be better than Stanford on and off the field
So Even though I think a head to head will flip him it is stupid that this is Stanfords schedule compared to ours
2012 Stanford Football Schedule
Sept. 1 - San Jose State
Sept. 8 - Duke
Sept. 15 - USC
Sept. 27 - at Washington
Oct. 6 - Arizona
Oct. 13 - at Notre Dame
Oct. 20 - at California
Oct. 27 - Washington State
Nov. 3 - at Colorado
Nov. 10 - Oregon State
Nov. 17 - at Oregon
Nov. 24 - at UCLA
Nov. 30 - Pac-12 Championship Game
I wasn't aware of any specific comments he had made. Thanks for the insight. They open up against a couple of real dynasties. I see 7 games ND would win on that schedule simply by rolling out of bed.
UW has a good O but the D is horrendous. You have to out toughen Stanford to beat them
