Movies I recently watched that were good:

Zombieland
Restrepo
Law Abiding Citizen
Syriana
Memento
Tons of documentaries

Anyone else got some recommendations?

I don't know if you are into this type of movie but it was called Sex Drive.

It's almost like a Road Trip kind of movie, kind of funny. I've watched most of the known movies, so it gets fun just flipping through and watching the more "unknown" ones

also:

Crossroads, with Ralph Macchio, its kind of old but has good blues music in it.

That was Darren Aranofsky's first movie. Really talented director. Check out some of his other films if you liked it.

Requiem for a Dream
The Wrestler
Black Swan

Don't watch Requiem for a Dream if you are in a good mood.

I wasn't in the mood to watch Restrepo, but I just decided to put it on, and it got my attention from the very beginning. Definitely a must see.

Another interesting/disturbing choice that I thought was great recently was "The Road", the movie made from Cormac McCarthy's post apocalypse novel. Stars Viggo Mortenson, Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron, very chilling but very good movie about the a father and son.

One of my favorite books of all time...the movie stays true to the source material really well.

My queue has a vast assortment. Tonight, the wife, kiddo, and I (baby will be there but not comprehend) are gonna watch "The Labrynth." Not to be confused with the Pan's creation. I have The Neverending Story parts 1 and 2, Chisum, Foreign Exchange Student (National Lampoon's), Judas, and X-Files seasons 1-10. I'm also working on episode 5 of Spartacus's second season. I seriously recommend people watch Spartacus, the first season. You'll be hooked. It's certainly not family oriented. We also have about 15 cartoon movies lined up for the 4-year-old.

Taken w/ Liam Neeson

Really underrated movie. I actually took my gf to see it during the Valentine's Day weekend 2 years ago and even she liked it.

The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia is disturbing.

I am in the middle of watching this movie, and yes I agree it is disturbing. Just knowing people like that are really in this world, like the part where the lady had a baby, then turned to the table to snort pills. Unbelievable!!

Supposedly there is a "Taken" on steroids that is about to come out. I am too lazy to look it up.

Neason is in it as well, I believe.

it's called Unknown, and I went to see it last night, it is pretty good. But I think I would take Taken over it.

Yeah, gotta watch FOG OF WAR. Amazing and important film. Must watch.

And since this is a movie thread, check out the movie my brother and I wrote, IMMORTALS, this November. (11.11.11)

Immortals (2011) - IMDb

Both my brother and I are die hard ND fans. (our oldest sister was a St. Mary's alum, her freshmen year was the '88 championship season and we've been fans ever since)
