Clausen getting heisman attention right now is valid. He is playing at an extremely high level.

considering that the heisman watch is pertaining to this year, and previous years' performances are not factored in....how in anyones right mind could they have tim tebow ahead of clausen?? how many fumbles and INTs has tebow had this year? compared to clausens ZERO. Tebow looked like shit against Tenn. Im not saying that Clausen is the front runner, but he ahead of Tebow at this time in the year.

any list that has tebow over clausen right now is bullshit. IMO

I figure any games against D1AA teams or lower should not count in D1A stats.

I couldnt agree more . Tebow is a Fullback with an arm. A better scrambler than the Original Jared "Hefty Lefty" Lorenzen

Tebows manuer tandrums in the huddle are getting old. Clausen 's throwing darts with accuracy. It has been fun to watch him develope. Quinn was the same way. Damn guys we have a damn good team, just a few tweeks in the secondary and we could be unbelievable. D-line is decent, Off-line is giving Jimmy plenty of time to pull the trigger and get some runs off. I dont think were done by a long shot.

Sorry for getting a little off subject we have so much potential here its scary.

Keep the Faith !!

Without a doubt, individually Clausen has been far-and-away a more productive player this year than Tebow. However, Clausen is 2-1 and Tebow is 3-0. Again, not taking anything away from Clausen's unbelievable stats. Besides, this is just one douche's opinion on the race.

ESPN has Tebow as 1, McCoy as 2 and a few more quarter backs ahead of Clausen. Here are Clausens stats compared to four quarter backs ahead of him (according to ESPN)

Yards - 540
TD - 5
Int - 1
Completion % - 67.2

Rush Yards - 148
TD - 3
YPC - 3.8

McCoy:

Rating - 144.5
Yards - 859
TD - 6
Int - 4
Completion % - 68.2

Rushing Yards - 46
TD - 1
YPC 1.9

Max Hall (BYU)

Rating - 155.5
Yards - 944
TD - 6
Int - 6
Completion % - 69.3

Rushing Yards - 2
YPC - 0.2

Case Keenum (Houston)

Rating - 180.3
Yards - 725
TD - 7
Int - 1
Completion % - 72.4

Rushing Yards - 16
TD - 2
YPC - 2.3

Jimmy Clausen

Rating - 188.56
Yards - 951
TD - 9
Int - 0
Completion % - 68.1

Rushing Yards - 0

If a quarterback has the lead in a category it his in bold and green. How is Clausen not in the lead for QB's????? Well it is ESPN....

By the looks of it Tebow's stats are not good at all. The stats of his that are bold and red means he is last in that category.

Tebow is 3-0 but it was against Charleston Southern, Troy St, and a bad Tennessee team. Had we played those 3,we'd be 3-0 too, and I could imagine Jimmy would have put up playstation numbers in those games.

ESPN Heisman Predictor had Clausen #8.

Tebow was #1, Locker was#10.

Jahvid Best was the only non QB in the Top 10

Alright I was reading on the scout football page their heisman crap. This is what they had to say about Tebow, who is thier front runner...

The numbers are almost meaningless at this point. The Florida passing game isn't going to be special against the better teams, and he'll have good rushing stats, but all that matters to the voters are the wins. He carried the punchless Gator attack against Tennessee and he'll almost certainly be his screamy, rugged-running self in the bigger games over the next few weeks. If the season ended right now, he'd win the Heisman on name recognition alone.

Ridiculous.

Thanks IHMM. Here's what they said about JC; not a bad summary at all:

QB Jimmy Clausen, Jr. Notre Dame
This Week: At Purdue
Last Week: 22-of-31 for 300 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Michigan State

No one's playing better. Clausen is second in the nation in passing efficiency and is tenth in total offense. He has a mild case of turf-toe, but it's not expected to give him much of a problem. However, the loss of star WR Michael Floyd will be a problem. The Irish are loaded at receiver, and the passing game will keep on going, but a win over USC is a must for Clausen to have a shot at going to New York.

If Tebow was on ND he would be the most hated player ever. His religion BS and that red faced crap would have him mocked daily on ESPN.

Clausen will never win the Heisman, the writers equate him with Weis and dont like him. People still talk about the stupid limo. He would almost have to play perfect with ND going undefeated to even make the ceremony.

Swash's post says it all. Every major award and ranking is based off of previous seasons more than the season at hand. When Notre Dame gets beat they fall off the cliff, but USC gets beat and they are still in the thick of things. Not to mention Michigan has just as much of a good team as Wash if not better. This political B.S. drives me F@#$ing crazy. When we beat USC our ranking will go up, but you can expect the "So Called" BCS experts will do everything in their power to keep the # before ND's name as high as possible. F@#$ 'em! They're just pissed cuz their application for enrollment at ND was DENIED!

Jim Clausen

Jim Clausen

I like saying that cause he's no kid anymore. I looked these stats up Mon night and just laughed when I saw he wasnt even in top 3. Thanks for posting them and hats off to Jim Clausen. Its laughable that they would put the BYU, Miami, and Houston QB ahead of him at this time. Maybe later but for now he has done a better job than any of those guys. Tebow will win this thing as long as they win games. He's a fine example and all of a good kid but it erks me a little that espn ( notice small caps ) has such a hold on this deal. They might as well call it espn-man.

Players currently receiving more Heisman hype than Jimmy Clausen:

1. Tim Tebow
2. Colt McCoy (despite three interceptions against Texas Tech)
3. Jahvid Best (he is a better contender, right now, the undisputed best running back in the nation)
3. Jacory Harris
4. Ryan Mallett
5. Case Keenum
6. Max Hall
7. 3,000,000 others

If he continues to put up 300 yds and 0 ints, he'll get bumped up QUICKLY. Next year he'll be in the top 4 coming out of the gate. I hope the oline turnover doesn't hurt the overall production next year.

The Heisman trophy has truly become an f-ing joke over the past decade. It is a damn popularity contest, and it takes away from the accomplishments of past winners. If they give Tebow a 2nd Heisman trophy this year, it will completely diminsh the achievement of Archie Griffin who EARNED the right to two trophies back in his day, during a time when winning the Heisman really meant something. No one should win this thing twice, but Griffin did, and that meant something....it meant something huge. But now, Tebow is going to get a second trophy handed to him like its a friggin "most improved player" award on a JV squad, just because he is America's darling. What a load of crap!

JC is the real deal. In two years when we compare his starting NFL contract with that of Tebow, everyone will finally understand this.

Again, if Tebow was on Notre Dame could you imagine the venom towards him? I bet half the ND team does as much philanthropic things as Tebow but you would never hear about it.

All you hear about Weis is how horrible he is, if it werent for ND supporters you would never know there was a Hannah and Friends.
