Alright fellas, my weekend is in your hands. I will let you guys determine how it goes down. Hear me out.

Four of us in one my grad classes went to the pub last night. The 3 of them went to Penn State for undergrad. They invited me to Happy valley for the weekend to tailgate and watch the games (ND and PSU) at a bar so not to pay money for game tickets. And I also don't have to miss ND vs Purdue.

I'm in. I'm going. Here's where you guys come in.

1) college gameday is going to be there and I will too. should i wear my green #7 ND jersey?

2) should I play it safe, not piss off 110,000 people and keep my ND stuff at home?

Keep in mind...I'm 5'7'', 165 pounds. If somethin ugly goes down I'll need back up.

How about a sign reading:

I suggest stealth and discretion. Valor and pride won't mean jack if you wind up with a missing tooth or two. Remember, you/we don't directly have a dog in PSU-Iowa race.

Wear your green #7 jersey under a nondescript blue shirt. Put "Clausen 4 Heisman" on cloth that can be easily folded, hidden and then unfurled and displayed. Gauge the blood/alcohol level and demeanor of the crowd. Assess the probability of actually getting on camera. Run a quick mental cost/benefit analysis of possible outcomes. Factor in the size and personal loyalty of your grad school classmates. Act accordingly.

At 5'7" you might be able to stay REAL low and elude notice as you escape. At 165 lbs. you should be able to bowl over a coed or two so do what you can to chose your route.

If all else fails: Shout "Drinks for everyone!" while pointing at your friends if they're still anywhere near you. Then quietly and quickly slip away.

Digression: I topped out at 5'7", 145 lbs in my "prime." Shrinkage and a skewed/flawed/stupid food to drink ratio have me at 5'6", 130. I understand your concern.

Wear the colors!!!!!!!!! I see a bunch of those shows and the crowd is full of people touting anybody and everybody. The 1st game - in the background was that giant Weis head with a donut hanging out of his mouth. I also saw Tebow sign (if I remember correctly, they weren't at the Charleston Southern/Florida game. They have signs for everybody. What I'd like to know - do they set up those crowds, i.e. set them up with those signs? Being ESPN - we dont get any Gamedays at Notre Dame - do we? I assume ND/Southern Cal. will be at Texas/Oklahoma.

It's in the morning, so rock the Clausen jersey bro. You're also with 3 friends in PSU gear, so people will be alright with you.

At night, I feel your concern, especially if PSU were to lose, which is doubtful, but still. I wouldn't blame you for not wearing it at night, especially considering how absolutely insane certain people are. I've rocked my Irish colors in South Central L.A. after a game, at night. Then again, I won't do that anymore, since my wife was cursed at and told to f*** off in 2006 as she was with her old college roommates just trying to walk into the gate. Thank God I wasn't there LOL, because I would have been forced to defend my wife's honor against groups of pussy Raider fans, but I digress.

And make the Jimmy for Heisman sign!!!

And a Clausen sign would be sick or somehow one involving Golden Tate and the swan dive

I'm a PSU grad but ND fan all my life...
I would recommend wearing the green jersey but be cautioned that it will be a whiteout and you will be that much more visible. Since you will standout that much more I suggest taking advantage of it. Maybe a nice sign like "ND vs. Big Ten (officials) 1-1" or simply "Fuck the Big Ten". Regardless, you will be harassed so make the most of it.

I like it. We now have too many ideas for sign ideas.

The plan is to wear my green #7 jersey during Gameday and put on a blue shirt for the game so I don't come home looking like I ran through south central LA with NDINLA.

If we can get some more sign ideas (i will use both sides) it'd be a big help.

Right now I'm thinking "Clausen 4 Heisman" on one side and something Irish Envy related on the other...gimme some ammo!
