I honestly think it matters more for if one of Fields/Faison get hurt than anything else. I do not think it's a factor looking ahead to next year because ND could easily go get two top guys in the portal to replace whoever they lose.

Carr is gonna have ND as a mighty attractive destination to any pass catchers in the portal. Greathouse def means more to this years squad.

He is a good player but we have a lot of good players in our offense right now and only so many snaps to get them the ball. Out of Love/Price/Fields/Faison/Pauling/Raridon, whose targets/carries would you sacrifice to give more to Greathouse?

I hope he sticks too, because I think he's a good player, b/c he'll be super valuable if Faison or Pauling got hurt, because he'd be a starter next year, and mostly because bailing on a good team mid-season over some perceived lack of targets is short-sighted and dumb. But if he goes, he goes. And end of the day he probably is just dealing with a minor injury.

We all saw what he was capable of in the CFP. He’s better than Pauling (no slight to Will) and need to find ways to get him the ball if he’s healthy.

This. We've seen what he can do against some very good defenders in the playoffs. I could see him being injured, and Texas would absolutely come calling if he had second thoughts.

the problem with him seems to be if he has any type of minor injury he goes AWOL. Maybe he does the blocking well, I don't know. When Faison was banged up last season he was still okay (not great but okay). So far Pauling has been a lot better than Greathouse.
