Only if ND fans sell out.I’m sure it’s been said but Indiana optically will be the worst potential opponent for ND. Negates almost all of the home field advantage.

Nah. It’ll still be a huge home night game. Last year Ohio State, or at least USC level. We may have been overhyping the weather part anyway.I’m sure it’s been said but Indiana optically will be the worst potential opponent for ND. Negates almost all of the home field advantage.
I agree. Worst possible match up. Refs will side with the underdogs which will help Indiana given how their Oline holds a lot.I’m sure it’s been said but Indiana optically will be the worst potential opponent for ND. Negates almost all of the home field advantage.
Cignetti on Notre Dame matchup -
Sometimes not being ready helps,… no time to think about itThe backup wasn’t ready to play in that game but still led them to a win. He has weeks to get ready now.
If the committee values SOS and then puts in a team with the 60th ranked schedule and zero wins against top 25 teams over the 9th ranked SOS and three wins over current top 25 teams they sure didn’t show it.
End of the day, if this is how they are going to choose playoff teams, then it’s bad for CFB. There will be plenty of teams trying to cancel really good OOC games and just schedule down. It’s just bad for marquee matchups and bad for a team like Notre Dame. Who wants to play a perennial top 10-15 team anymore if this is the criteria that’s going to be used?
Veiled shot at ND heard loudly.James Franklin can eat a Costco size bag of dicks.
That’s ridiculous and you know it. They have more top 25 wins than almost half the teams in the playoff COMBINED. That has to matter. But as I said, the criteria used by the committee is bad for CFB, bad for my team, and bad for the Irish in the future. The games, and the results, have to matter.
Alabama’s crown jewel OOC game was 5-7 Wisconsin.

I understand the take, but at the same time Alabama isn't not in the CFP because of their OOC schedule. Same can be said for South Carolina and Ole Miss. If Alabama doesn't lose to Vandy they're in. If South Carolina wins @ Bama or vs LSU, they're in. If Ole Miss doesn't lose vs Kentucky or @ Florida....they're in. And ultimately you can't control the SOS you face.....I'm sure Bama didn't plan on their OOC road game at Wiscy being against the worst Wiscy team in 2 decades, for instance. Who knows, maybe if Wisconsin goes 8-4 or 9-3 instead of 5-7 Bama gets in.If the committee values SOS and then puts in a team with the 60th ranked schedule and zero wins against top 25 teams over the 9th ranked SOS and three wins over current top 25 teams they sure didn’t show it.

But the 60th ranked schedule and zero top 25 wins outranks it? And then have the committee state SOS was a determining factor? The future of CFB took a huge hit today and if I were an Irish fan I would be highly concerned. Phones will be ringing wanting to cancel marquee games are probably taking place right now. And with the Irish not being in a conference the ability to schedule marquee games that they will need goes down. A one loss ND will probably make the playoffs most years but a two loss Irish team without marquee matchups to help their resume… forget it. If anything, this will push the Irish closer to joining a conference just to be competitive schedule wise.Really dont understand this argument. Alabama went 4-0 against their OOC schedule (which was a soft schedule, 49th, 83rd, 102nd and unranked FCS). Nothing about Bama's scheduling affected this. They weren't hurt for "choosing hard" here. They were elimimated because they lost to bad teams in their own conference to the point that you couldn't call it a fluke anymore.
The seeding isn't the committee's fault though. They have to do what they're told by the commissioners who set the playoff rules.AP vs college football committee seeds:
Oregon: 0 (1st for both)
Georgia: 0 (2nd for both)
Notre Dame: +4 (3rd and 7th)
Texas: +1 (4th and 5th)
Penn St: +1 (5th and 6th)
Ohio St: +2 (6th and 8th)
Tennessee: +2 (7th and 9th)
Boise State: -5 (8th and 3rd)
Indiana: +1 (9th and 10th)
Arizona State: -6 (10th and 4th)
Alabama: +2 (11th and 13th)
SMU: -1 (12th and 11th)
Clemson: -1 (13th and 12th)
South Carolina: +1 (14th and 15th)
Miami: -1 (15th and 14th)
ND has double the largest negative movement from 62 voter ranking to the seeding of a 13 person committee.
