We have heated benches for the ND guys correct? We could make this really interesting.
Yessir one of the beat writers shared them on social media last week. I'm sure the other teams could bring their own if they really felt like it, but only if ND let them use the home tunnel. I could see ND going Purdue and the "big stupid drum" again on their opponent. "If it doesn't fit through your own tunnel, it's not coming into our stadium" lol

is it just in the NFL if the home team decides not to use heated benches then the away team can't either or something? is that a thing in CFB?

I think you guys are really overblowing this weather effect to be honest...we are so focused on where these teams are specifically located but dont forget that most of these teams have players from all over the country so i think its a moot point....for god sakes, we even have players from the south, Hawaii on our roster...

Let's just focus on the Xs and Os and stop with this weather.com BS and beat whoever is slotted vs us...

You’re thinking of the NFL.

Look at Miami’s roster. I say with 100% certainty over half of their players are from Florida, and have never been outside of their geographic footprint during the winter for longer than a few minutes at a time in the actual elements.

You are right it doesn’t have the “holy shit” effect some people think it does, but it will play a factor, just not a defining one.

It's pretty darn close. Ask those Seminoles that played in 2018.

no heating for the field at ND right? Will the local fans (degenerates) of South Bend be drafted in to shovel snow Buffalo Bills style??

There's no doubt it will be an advantage to the northern teams if the weather is very cold/snowy. How much remains to be seen. I think it affects teams that like to sling it (like Ole Miss) more than maybe a run heavy team.

That was a 5-7 football team who wasn't playing for anything. I'm not saying the cold won't matter, but people expecting a Bama team in the playoffs to quit before kickoff like bad FSU teams and Miami in the Sunbowl are going to be disappointed.
I don't expect them to fold, but if it's freezing or colder, I can see it hanging around in the back of their minds.

This is why I have so much confidence in this team. They can run on you any which way they damn well please. Patchwork oline be damned, what an absolutely dominant run game.

Paired with a truly elite and athletic defense…they’re going to be an incredibly tough out as long as they can stay healthy

The 2010 Sun Bowl was majestic. From the moment they ran out in winter clothes for a game that was practically above freezing, it was over

That's without taking Riley's runs into account?

If so... yo.

Or the Miami team that played in the Sun Bowl against ND after the 2010 season, when it had snowed the day prior and the temps were in the 30s. Every single one of those Miami players was bundled up like an Arctic explorer.

Everyone makes fun of Miami, but Jacory Harris played his butt off in that Sun Bowl, throwing 3 passes to Harrison Smith in the first half.

So who should we root for this weekend and why? Would definitely prefer an ASU --> SMU path than a Bama/UGA-type path.
