Pundits are going to try to convince us that Marcel Reed is a significant upgrade to Weigman, and isn’t the guy who had a 54% completion percentage entering the game. Therefore this A&M team would beat ND and should be ranked higher accordingly.

LSU was totally unprepared for how to handle a mobile QB, and he provided a needed spark today, but there’s a reason he wasn’t the starter.

It would be interesting (but somewhat boring) if we played them in r1 of the playoffs.

Uh, no. They lost to Notre Dame. So they shouldn't be ahead of Notre Dame with the same record.

This dumbassery is 2018 Michigan all over again.
If A&M win out they will have some good wins on their record and no bad loss. They would def be ahead I’d think.

Unless the winning team ends up with more losses, the losing team should never finished ranked higher than the winning team.

But I know it happens. Common sense isn’t so common anymore

Only poll that matters is voted on by the CFP committee. They have historically proven that wins matter more than losses. Ergo, no way A&M jumps us.

If they win out they'll be a one loss SEC Champion and ranked 1 or 2.
To add to this, if when it’s all said and done Ta&m is ranked higher than us they will have beaten Texas and probably Georgia. So 1) it’s not going to happen, 2) if it does happen they deserve to be ranked higher than us, 3) that would help us way more than it would hurt us by them jumping over us.

Yep, all this. If A&M wins the SEC, God Bless 'em they should be the #1 or 2 seed. They'll have earned it. But yeah that's not likely to happen.
More likely they lose to Texas, finish 10-2 and probably fall back behind us. If they beat Texas then lose to Georgia, it'll be an interesting call, but I think we should assume the #2 SEC team slots in ahead of us in seeding regardless of who it is. So it probably doesn't really matter

Kudos to Elko for making the QB change. I thought BK had his team on its way to a win similar or bigger than ND’s win over aTm. It’s weird to me b/c I watched LSU play Arkansas last weekend and they totally bottled up Green who is also a dual threat & a dangerous runner. Maybe they were so focused on Weigman that they didn’t prepare for Reed but that should fall on the LSU DC to have a contingency plan & make an immediate adjustment. I have faith that Golden would be ready for such a change.

They should stick with Reed. He looks like he should be the QB, he moved the ball much better and was pretty tough to defend.

This win looks better by the week. And now this Texas A&M team looks to be playing so much better.

…but so are we, bitches. Go Irish.
Just good enough to jump us next week in the polls
AP poll got it correct and as long as both teams have only one loss, I don't see how aTm would jump ND. H2H has to count for something. It would be one thing if ND was limping along but they've been getting better by the week as well.

Correct. In a subjective ranking system, one of the few objectives that should truly matter is H2H results. It makes even more of a difference that ND went down there and won on the road when we weren't anywhere near as good offensively as we have been in October.
