Always balls deep. Always…Imma take Balis giving it the "good" that he was getting deep enough.

Please. Those were very solid male squats. Not everyone squats like flexible female gymnasts. That’s not a real squat. Got to get 90 degrees or lower. Try again Ausberry.
8 plates x45 = 360 plus the bar would be like 405 right?Assuming he could have squeezed in a 7th rep at 495, that puts his squat max around 600 pounds. I would be pretty surprised if that wasn't the top number in the linebacker room already. Freakish strength for a freshman.

I'm gonna be a plate truther. ND's plates are heavier (made of gold), dude was basically squatting a Ford Fiesta.8 plates x45 = 360 plus the bar would be like 405 right?
Nope. Prototypical squat for athletic performance. You can tell your crossfit instructor I said so.That was a bend not a squat
As a frequent patron of the Irsay YMCA, I concur that those squats were legit and Giddy, per usual, is just quadrupling down on a poor take.Nope. Prototypical squat for athletic performance. You can tell your crossfit instructor I said so.
Uhh, yeah, I'd agree with your assessment!Imma take Balis giving it the "good" that he was getting deep enough.
Fire Longo, Fire Balis!Balis went down a notch in my book. We need higher standards
I would love for you to tell that to Ausberry’s faceHey I’m just telling you what the real deal is. I get it, it’s hard to criticize anything ND Balis is a top notch coach but that was not a real squat on the video.
This graphic doesn't even know the difference between "to" and "too"
Lol. Ok, I’d love to help the young man out!I would love for you to tell that to Ausberry’s face
You might want to refer back to your grammar lessons again. This graphic doesn't even know the difference between "to" and "too"
Also, he's not fucking power lifting, he's weight training. Goodness, talking about going down a rabbit hole....
Shit I didn’t know Paul Longo went blind 4 years ago. That sucks to put it mildly. He was a very excellent S&C coach over the years too. Took us into the 21st century compared to Weis’s program.
Well, there's a difference between auto correct and generating a graphic, but good one, and way to deflect from the point at hand. You might want to refer back to your grammar lessons again.
Deep squats are horrible for you long term & many pro athletes and trainers have quit doing them.
Power lifters & body builders can do them all they want, but they aren’t good for athletes.
And lifting doesn’t equal real life strength, especially if you have to wrap up, put on braces, etc…
Watch the training the special units in the military & pro fighters do, it’s mostly low weight, high reps, high sets. And you won’t find overall body strength more than in those two groups. Getting muscles to work with joints, ligament, tendons, cardio, etc… is the most important thing.
Ausberry doesn’t need to go deeper with that much weight unless he wants chronic pain by 20.
To be fair, all the photos on that chart are squats. It's just showing different depths of squats.Hey I’m just telling you what the real deal is. I get it, it’s hard to criticize anything ND Balis is a top notch coach but that was not a real squat on the video.
So, you're saying that your fly-by, quick critique may have been premature?I mean I haven’t sat down and discussed his philosophy with Balis. I concede athletic training is different from power training and you may not want to extend past 90 for non-pros due to negative impact on other muscles if their technique goes wrong.
Just understand squats mean different things to different people when you hear these big numbers getting floated around.
