Kicked off his Day 1 at Florida, not FSU like the rest of America. Texas offered over the weekend.

Being from Baton Rouge..., well we'll see.

Anyone know who the real players are here?

He has a brother, Austin, who is in the 22 class. ND offered but it would appear there is no room for him, at least right now. Perhaps we should see where he ends up. I imagine LSU will be a heavy favorite right now but there is a lot of time. Also plenty of siblings go to different schools so we shall see.

From the ISD stuff I've read, it seems like it's 1) LSU 2) ND 3) The rest (substantially behind)

Doesn't feel like a battle ND can win with all of the environmental factors pointing towards LSU, but it seems like ND separated themselves from the rest of the pack.

We shall see. Sometimes a kid (or parents) want to get out of town for awhile.

More than just local pressures. His dad is Verge Ausberry, which I won’t try to summarize since I don’t know full detail, is a named employee in LSUs recent scandal. Without the scandal, a parent that high up at LSU would seem a 100% lock. With the scandal, we’ll see what shakes out between Ausberry and the school

The dad is the deputy AD, and it would be odd if his son went elsewhere.

But,,,these investigations get tricky, and If Verge Ausberry gets thrown under the NCAA compliance bus by Orgeron and the powers that be, and gets dismissed,
it may make it easier, and more comfortable for Jaiden to leave. Orgeron ditched his wife right after he won the championship. He has less reason to be loyal to Ausberry.

Far be it from Our Lady's University to profit from the misfortune of others, but if the NCAA (between now and 12/22 the signing date for '23s) were to act and LSU had to give up some scholarships or recruiting, the reasoned well tempered souls in Red Stick might be scapegoating the family Ausberry.

For the reasons the mods laid out in the pursuit of Florida leaning Cottrell it makes eminent sense to continue pursuit of Ausberry, who if things get hot in Baton Rouge, could find comfort in the understanding arms of Marcus Freeman.

Orgeron isn't out of the water yet. Along with the accusations against players, there's several coeds breathing down his neck from a sexual harassment perspective that he can't dismiss by throwing Ausberry under the bus.

yeah, he is not, and it is a long shot that he would both use Ausberry as the scapegoat, keep his job for a while and then get canned.

But it is Louisiana
Baton Rouge
And Orgeron is more a cartoon caricature than a fully functioning human being.

In the case of Jaiden Ausberry, if Orgeron even TRIED to get rid of the dad, Verge Ausberry, that might be enough for Jaiden to put Baton rouge in the rear view mirror.

By the way, some feel the LSU basketball coach is a bigger scumbag than Orgeron.

and of course there is this:

https://www.theadvertiser.com/story...yer-called-totally-justifiable-da/2432377002/

Big upset there, Baton Rouge police call shooting, which may have been by Edwards-Helaire "justifiable"

Just another loosiana Saturday night, kids selling "electronics" in a marginal neighborhood.....

Long shot? Absolutely, But this is Louisiana where strange things happen. Just ask the Kingfish, Huey Long..

It didn’t make it here but this is one that has actually been for a while (see Toronto’s post in July) in the cautiously optimistic category. Only enhanced with Washington’s hire.

A 5 star LB leaving Louisiana (Baton Rouge for that matter) for ND would be the ultimate F U to Kelly.

Yeah the early buzz was ND/OSU. Found an old blurb from Kurelic saying OSU's biggest threat was probably ND, not LSU. That was August. Al being here must help as I assume he was Jaiden's recruiter.

Wonder how BK will recruit against ND. Does he point out the negatives and say he left bc the ceiling was too low or will he just refuse to say anything bad?

He may avoid the question, not answer it, as he slowly finds himself on top of the recruit to start grinding on him and hope that settles everything.

His dad works for LSU as well.
Who knows that could even be a factor in our favor.
The son may want to spread his wings a bit and/or Dad - knowing well how the world of college sports works - might prefer his son go elsewhere, see the world, get that prestigious degree.

Or, who am I kidding, the guy knows he'll get killed by the boosters if his five-star son goes anywhere but Baton Rouge and so LSU it is, kid.

Looking at his brother's commitment timeline, he visited LSU and presumably got grinded on by Kelly December 10th. December 13th he committed to Auburn. Maybe not applicable at all to Jaiden, but at least some form of optimism.

Wow didn't realize his brother's Auburn commit was that recent. (And in that timeline, LSU wouldn't have just been a courtesy offer.). Yeah who knows, maybe the Brothers Ausberry and/or Dad would rather not stay home, for whatever reason. Good for us if so.

One of Ausberry's father's co workers at LSU sued LSU for racial discrimination. He wasn't part of the suit but I think someone reported that the plaintiff was a close friend of Ausberry senior.

Might be a factor here.
