Who said he was dropping classes? Maybe he's not graduating. Who knowsWould someone who’s graduating sign up for classes only to drop them? I’m asking but it doesn’t seem like it.

The why is the #2 QB lost his starting job and it would be an open QB competition the following season, which he is frankly unlikely to win. The #2 RB never felt comfortable at ND and nearly transferred several times. It was just a matter of time with him. Estime is going to be the workhorse and Diggs probably wants to audition for the NFL and go pro after this season. That's it, that's the why.I want ND to succeed badly. But you can't lose #2 QB and #2 RB in same week without understanding why. Stating this doesn't make me or any other poster a so-called Troll.

Fellow students.Who said he was dropping classes? Maybe he's not graduating. Who knows
Perhaps. Fair observation. Both waited until after spring ball was complete. You're over thinking this.
It'll be such total pownage of Saban when he returns to ND next season after winning a natty, becoming an All-American and being a Heisman finalist,.... Saban,....This by Sampson must've been posted before Buchner announced for Bama. But it includes this head-spinning nugget, which I suppose remains a viable option...

Notre Dame football spring review: 12 thoughts on the Fighting Irish
Notre Dame exits spring practice in a stronger position than it entered it, even with the departing transfers following the Blue-Gold Game.theathletic.com
"Then again, Buchner could also head elsewhere this year, then return to Notre Dame next spring just the same. There’s an argument that might actually be the shrewdest of shrewd moves."

A guy like Jeremiah Love should not redshirt, this gives him a path for early touches with Estime being the workhorse and the way Payne’s spring has gone he should get his.Honestly if we stay healthy at QB, RB and WR then losing Buchner, Styles and Diggs wont have an impact at all (This year, 2024 is another story). We have very high talent in all three groups.
If we have injuries at any of those positions, which realistically will happen, we are going to be hurting from a numbers standpoint.
How do any of you know how good Love and Price are until they actually play? This is what this staff is in the position to decide. If they redshirt Love its because they think otherwise. If they move Tyree over to slot and let Estime and Diggs carry the load, its because they think that is best. Diggs was viewed as #2 Back because that is what the staff decided - especially in moving Tyree to slot. You forgot Jadarian Price too! and They will probably give Tyree some carries too. We really have a solid group of backs
We don’t know, it’s a projection based on film, measurables etc. but this is college ball, you have a short period of time with these guys and RBs especially should have a short time if they are good enough. RB is a position that a freshman should be able to come in and make an impact. Would I rather have Diggs? Of course but he didnt want to share the load and was always on unsteady ground being at ND. Based on what I know and saw from Price coming out of HS and Love I am excited for those guys to get a shot. The point is, would I prefer for Diggs to stay? Yes. But there is talent and potential behind him. college is all about potential and projection, then burst onto the sceneHow do any of you know how good Love and Price are until they actually play? Completely agree, which is why I think this has more to do with the OCs than it does with sitting behind Hartman. Rees was still here during the first portal window. Now it's Parker/Guidugli and Rees is shopping for a QB at Bama. That's what changed for Buchner.Don't you find that a little odd? Admittedly, I don't fully understand the mechanics of the transfer portal, when it is open/closed, and such, but when Hartman signed on in January, barring injury, he was going to be the starter. There was never a "quarterback competition." If you think differently, I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell to you.
In regard to Diggs, he was supposedly cold on Notre Dame or South Bend for a while and/or wanted to be the feature back. It is fairly apparent to all that he was never going to surpass Estime and solely be "the guy." They were always going to be a tandem.
So, wouldn't you want to jump ship early, and get a spring practice under your belt at your new university? Especially Buchner...there is so much to grasp learning a new offense, getting in rhythm with your wide receivers, working with your center and offensive line, and gaining a solid, respected rapport with your team. You're now attempting to be the leader. At running back, the transition is a lot smoother and you can plug Diggs in essentially immediately and he can play. But Buchner, by waiting so long, he kind of put himself behind the 8-ball.

Wait till Buchner goes to the Browns in the draft in three years.I just got some good info from my best source in Tuscaloosa about why Buchner transferred to Bama. Buchner says he got tired of ACamp talking shit about him on IE and decided to throw his lot in with the Tide just to stick his finger in that cat-loving rat bastard's eye.
I would be shocked if Tyree entered the portal, he is my game 1 starting slot WR, and he has stuck it out this long.Tyree is a guy I worry about with the portal.
TB12 will be ending his career at USF ala Blake Barnett.Who lasts longer at Bama- Buchner or Rees?
Still shocked that Buchner transferred to Bama with no guarantee of being the starting QB. If Rees leaves, he always has that Bama degree if he sticks it out.
He'll be back somewhere in cali before his eligibility expires. My pick would be San Diego st. Mark it 8TB12 will be ending his career at USF ala Blake Barnett.

BK about to make Alabama his new USCBK is going to beat Bama 2 years in a row.
As an Irish fan, I have to root for this to fail terribly for both Buchner and Tommy. Sorry, it's about competition now, I'm not "hoping for the best" for either of them. Buchner and Tommy succeeding at Bama is only going to reflect poorly on ND.I was reading an ESPN prediction that he will be the starter for Bama. That’s pretty surprising. That cannot be a good sign for them.
It's not really surprising IMO. His biggest problem isn't lack of talent it's lack of reps.I was reading an ESPN prediction that he will be the starter for Bama. That’s pretty surprising. That cannot be a good sign for them.
If he comes out with a different throwing motion I will agree but his delivery was very cringyIt's not really surprising IMO. His biggest problem isn't lack of talent it's lack of reps.
Really? My Alabama friends are saying it’ll be Simpson.I was reading an ESPN prediction that he will be the starter for Bama. That’s pretty surprising. That cannot be a good sign for them.
I have the opposite feeling that Saban will work some sort of magic and help him reach his fullest potential. Just a gut feeling.I was reading an ESPN prediction that he will be the starter for Bama. That’s pretty surprising. That cannot be a good sign for them.
