It remains to be seen if Freeman will be a great HC but he is the best representative we have had for the University in literal decades. We went through a handful of guys that were cantankerous and loathed by the media/public at large. And to me it’s not even about glitzy events like this, it’s about the little things like supporting women’s BB, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, etc. in his very limited spare time and trying to bring people together in a positive manner.

Oh, and he probably sells a LOT of apparel for ND… nobody was clamoring over “WHERE DO I BUY THAT HOODIE!?!” when the overweight coaches were wearing it…

MF has to be the most likeable hire at ND in my lifetime. Adult lifetime for sure.

He does the ND brand very well. I can't even imagine the damage he'd do on the recruiting trail at an SEC or ACC school. There was a reason Kelly hired him and tried to get him to LSU.

I really want him to be successful because he gives off all the good vibes, man.

Based on his own social media accounts and that of the football program, this guy is never home.

In some people’s eyes we don’t have the best coach, but I’ll be damned if we don’t have the hardest working one
Seems like he's spending most of his time schmoozing with alumni/ex players at events all over the country lately. I get that's part of it. It's cool to see his itinerary, and he's still calling recruits for sure, but it seems really excessive. Unless this helps with NLI, i don't see the big benefit.

Having the face of your program be seen in multiple environments - hobnobbing at the White House, attending high profile sporting events, being seen all over campus supporting the ND student body - isn’t a benefit? Marcus Freeman is selling the greatness of the all-around persona that goes with being attached to Notre Dame University.

Stop, his 6 day formal itinerary that's been shown is next to none of that. It's going to hotels and dinners with alumni, past players, and former players.

Yes he went to the white house, but that wasn't an ND thing.

I do think he's a great representative of ND, but I also think spending the majority of the last two weeks at alumni events is excessive. This isn't much different than golfing with alumni every day that got blasted on here (rightfully so).

I may just be a little sour because we didn't have a very good 2022 season and recruiting is no where near where it was at this time last year.
