Your correct. It’s not about the school, it’s about the drive of the person. The hell with school!!! I know multimillion dollar plumbers, electricians cabinetmakers, etc..
I read this in the voice of Roberto Boucher.

So first off, apologies to everyone, because I’m clearly very guilty of derailing the Bowen decommit thread.

My point on the stats are just that football recruits that can qualify for ND are probably above median for many State schools and below median for ND. On top of the fact that the college experience of athletes is just wildly different than the median student at any school.

So much of the “success” variable could already be predicted by family background / test scores, and so I’m trying to encourage more thinking on the margin when talking about the value added by Notre Dame compared to another school. We’ll just never get the data to compare the outcomes for similar kids.

I attended ND, but if I’m making the case for state schools, it’s because:

1) some recruiting posts are overly disrespectful of other colleges or exaggerating the relative differences in a way that pretends Notre Dame grads are undisputed superiors

2) Notre Dame has a reputation of being the Midwest Duke in terms of how haughty we can be about the school, and it makes me cringe.
Agreed, but I'm probably salty I didn't get into ND lol. Just kidding I'm over it after 20 years. Went to a State school after Holy Cross and my loans were paid off in probably half of the time it would have taken me at ND. At the time I was beyond disappointed but looking back I'm grateful it went the way that it did. I work for myself now but I could have been a Financial advisor with a ND degree or a IU degree. I agree with your points above.
It's a lot about who you know and the value you can add when it comes to a career. Right place right time etc. I'd play hoops over at ND and got along with about 20 percent of the guys. At IU I got along with about 80 percent. Just different up bringings.

My dad is in his 60s and all of his alum friends are more than happy to donate to a NIL fund if its the only way to compete for elite recruits. All they care about is seeing another championship in their lifetimes.

Certainly wouldn't be difficult for a rogue group of alums to get a package together.
I just want to see one. I can't even imagine it. It seems closer than it has been for most of my life but so far from actually happening.

TAMU is literally a cow college

I'm thinking about getting some cattle soon. I have too much land not to do something with.
He needs a Shirley to sit on his face so he loosens up & comes clean with everybody.
Somebody door dash him some Pinot & a hooker…

Wine is fine but liquors quicker.

Door dash a bottle of Wild Turkey 101.

Could we get back on with him by promising he can play safety and WR?

Miss, can we get the Isaiah McKenzie shrug after “…Verbal” until this is settled? Thanks.

The real question is...will this also become a food thread, ala Dante Moore? I am just ready to know if he sticks with ND or not. If so, awesome, if not, oh well, life goes on. Losing 5 star recruits isn't fun, but I don't let it ruin actual, normal life activities. We can't control what these HS kids do, it's better for our sanity to not get too invested in it.

Food thread conversion therapy is a positive solution to a shitty outcome.
