This can’t be that hard to get him money in a somewhat legit way that isn’t solely P4P. Get FUND to outright guarantee him X amount of money for social posts promoting whatever company/companies that FUND is working with.

If he signs with OU, he’s turning down A&M and Oregon, who are both legitimately 2 of the Top 5 pay for play programs. OU also lost multiple battles due to NIL.

The girlfriend is still the one winning. Always been.

I went to Notre Dame… I loved it, but I don’t pretend it’s $2M special, and if enough people really thought that, they would charge more than they already do.

I appreciate the passion here, but I think pretending other colleges are so clearly inferior is both rude and a clear mistake.

For the adults in the thread (meant literally as in people old enough to have had a career), we should all know brilliant people that went to flagship state universities and loved their time and education there.
Based on your depressing response, you must have been in Zahm...makes sense LOL

Its about to go into a dead period right? He stays status quo and then does what he does when he can get reduced blow back from the spurned schools staff..this seems to make the most sense.

Yeah the dead period where he’ll go to school and every single person there is pushing him to Oklahoma.

If Loy’s post means anything, I bet an alum is going rogue.

That said, classic clickbait szn by Tommy boy. Gotta boost those subs for that end of year bonus

So first off, apologies to everyone, because I’m clearly very guilty of derailing the Bowen decommit thread.

My point on the stats are just that football recruits that can qualify for ND are probably above median for many State schools and below median for ND. On top of the fact that the college experience of athletes is just wildly different than the median student at any school.

So much of the “success” variable could already be predicted by family background / test scores, and so I’m trying to encourage more thinking on the margin when talking about the value added by Notre Dame compared to another school. We’ll just never get the data to compare the outcomes for similar kids.

I attended ND, but if I’m making the case for state schools, it’s because:

1) some recruiting posts are overly disrespectful of other colleges or exaggerating the relative differences in a way that pretends Notre Dame grads are undisputed superiors

2) Notre Dame has a reputation of being the Midwest Duke in terms of how haughty we can be about the school, and it makes me cringe.
Don’t cringe. Own it. Be proud and if people want to try to bring you down to their level, tell them to piss off.

I didn’t go to ND and I’m doing just fine. My path was rough but I survived. But I made a personal choice to survive. I work with others who went to ND and other “haughty” schools. If you have the opportunity to go to a school like ND, you do it. Not often do people who travel my path make it out on the other side so take advantage of all that a place like ND can offer.

My dad is in his 60s and all of his alum friends are more than happy to donate to a NIL fund if its the only way to compete for elite recruits. All they care about is seeing another championship in their lifetimes.

Certainly wouldn't be difficult for a rogue group of alums to get a package together.

Loy admitted he’s on his second glass of red so our boy might be willing to reveal a little more if he doesn’t switch to Shirley Temples

Kind of makes me wonder what type of drunk Loy is.

Given what he does for a living, fair to say that….he’s like to gossip?

Send over another bottle.

He needs to finally go at EJ for calling him a little boy a few years ago on Twitter.
I happen to know a few places they can (legally) throw down.
Speaking of EJ, it's about time for him to pop in with one last "I think Michigan has a chance here" before NSD

The best was when EJ interviewed Bowen over the summer, & Bowen never mentioned Michigan himself, but EJ kept asking him Michigan-specific questions, so Bowen answered.
Then, literally for months, EJ would pull quotes from that one interview (that EJ steered like a prosecutor), to make it look like Bowen was consistently over time talking about Michigan.
He even made comments about O’Leary being creepy for asking Bowen how his mom & GF were doing.

Really depends on the assurances. If one school told me that I'll make that in my time there, and I know i'd get top notch education to boot as well as playing time, national exposure and a great connections.... That would be a business decision.

But then again, its much easier to go with the sure 2 mill up front and bet on yourself... So it can be argued both ways.
I think college teachers across the country should start boycotting these football factories. If high school football
recruits and current players can get paid millions plus, the teachers should fight for it as well. Without them, you have no school.

Idk if it’s just by me, but what happened to the zero sugar ones? So much better than diet, and I can’t find them anyway
Idk,… I would never be caught drinking Coke Zero,… give me Dr Pepper with a straw,… and Zima.

Your correct. It’s not about the school, it’s about the drive of the person. The hell with school!!! I know multimillion dollar plumbers, electricians cabinetmakers, etc..
