My preferred ND game viewing atmospheres:
1) in the stadium with fellow ND megafans
2) at home with fellow ND megafans
3) at bar with fellow ND megafans
4) at home by myself
5) at home with wife and kids (both too young to be into it yet)

99) anywhere with hardcore ND haters or fair weather ND fans
100) anywhere with my father-in-law

How old exactly is your wife?

We get along overall, he’s just an ND hater and poorly tries to hide it. He is very Flutie-like when watching games: Quiet when ND is up big, but starts getting chatty when games get close or when ND is getting ready to lose..

My FiL knows enough about sports to watch it and keep tabs on the local teams... but it gets really old hearing Karen Williams... is Manti still on the team.... why did they replace their QB from last year (forgetting kids graduate or get drafted)... or facts I already know "did you know they use real gold in their helmets?"

God I hope he goes to Oregon. Fade into the mist and be a no factor for 4 years. Just don’t go to Michigan. Although, he’d be like their only recruit this year 😂

If he went to Michigan their class would start to pick up immediately.
Not much left for them to get unless the poach. They aren’t really in it for many. I think they finish outside top 10 even if they get 1 5 star. I think he’s Oregon bound regardless. The CB points that way. Only the one Michigan lunatic has UofM seriously in it at 50/50. But this kid likes to play games. He could be committed to Ball State silently. While I think he goes to OR, I’ve had a weird feeling he’s always going to be a signing day to Michigan decommit once the dust settles. I think anyone recruiting him but Michigan loses ultimately, even OR as I could see a one year and transfer. My gut says Michigan in the end, but my head says OR. We shall see. Either way, I’m getting a little impatient not hearing even a whisper about the Irish looking at any other ‘23 kids.

He did. He landed another 5 star that wasn’t playing games and was ready to get to work.
That's great, for the 2024 class.
It's not good to whiff this year. Especially when most think we kind of whiffed last year.
We are trying to compete with teams that are taking two some years like Alabama.
We should try to grab Avery Johnson. Great potential.

We definitely need to be bringing in a top 10 or so QB every year or so like Bama, OSU, etc. But if Tommy can't do that then he needs to coach them up. If he can't do that, well, then he won't have a job for very long. The ball is in his court.

Was really hoping I'd be able to watch him on TV one day
#Pac12AfterDark used to be my favorite part of the college football day.

Little night cap, a game you aren't really emotionally invested in on the tv while you may or may not fall asleep on the couch, in a satisfied stupor that your favorite thing is on your tv screen purely for enjoyment, and no other reason.

But now I'm too old for the 2:30am bedtimes lol

The fact that a 2024 QB made him decide to speed up his timeline and pivot from his long time favorite is …. a choice.

Surprised by the staffs lack of urgency with other '23 prospects. Unless they know Carr can reclassify once Moore commits elsewhere, we don't appear to be in contact with any other '23 QBs. Need to get a elite QB every other year at the minimum if you expect to compete for championships.

One of the reasons that Moore is so infatuated with Oregon is Kenny Dillingham.

His OC career:

2018 Memphis- 8-6, 43 PPG. Okay great. Mickey Mouse conference. Team saw no drop off once he left.
2019 Auburn- 9-4, 33 PPG. 28th. Pretty good. Not amazing.
2020 FSU 3-6, 26 PPG. 75th. Awful team.
2021 FSU 5-7, 28 PPG. 66th. No improvement, really just skewed by a thrashing of UMass.

His only notable QB is Bo Nix who hasn't lived up to his 5 star hype at all.

Rees, for all his faults and inexperience, has a much better resume.

Have fun Dante.

It doesn't sound like an if Carr can do it, but rather an if Carr wants to do it.

Yes, the lack of urgency is very interesting. I can't imagine MF is too dumb to know that a '23 QB is a priority. This, along with the serious lack of even a whisper that we are pursuing any '23 QB's at all, tells me Carr is a likely reclassify.

Marcus Freeman doesn't strike me as a "throw it against the wall and see if it sticks" type of guy, nor does he come across as someone that doesn't have a plan for most things.

That being said, I'm sure he's going to be accused of not having a plan and or urgency regardless.

With regard to ‘23 QBs, you simply aren’t going to get a “good” uncommitted one right now unless someone lengthens their process. And if CJ is reclassifying, all of this is moot, but they are going to keep cards as close to the vest as possible about that for obvious reasons until it is official one way or another.

Most likely, ND will know by the fall whether CJ can reclassify. They’re probably putting out feelers to other players right now to gauge interest level. I would guess that if he DOESNT reclass then they will look to flip someone having a good senior season. Not ideal, but far from the end of the world.

I don't buy that. He apparently knew since March that CJ was going to choose ND.
