Loy put out a pretty optimistic update yesterday on a few prospects, including Ewell. So TIFWIW, but he said that Ewell isn't a take for OSU and that in turn is pushing him towards ND. In fact, Loy seems to think this could end sooner rather than later. He also mentioned that Ewell might take DWP's spot as there might be only 1 DT spot left.

Personally, I'd take 3 DT's since we didn't take any last year, but that's just me. Also, who knows if that's Loy creating hype or actually quality info.

I would too. If it ends up Hinish, Ewell, DWP in that order I'm fine. If it's ND v. Stanford for DWP, ND could win by default because of Stanford Admissions.

Stanford's "high standards" are grossly overstated and propaganda. Nothing more, nothing less.

I personally think this kid is an absolute beast. I would love if he came to ND. He'd be a game changer. I'm surprised he's not ranked much higher.

Once you get in, I agree.

They have kids who don't make the cut each year and all too often it's extrememly late in the process. ND does a MUCH better job with this. Stanford publicly humiliates kids using their methods because you know the reason certain players "decommit" in Dec/Jan like David Long, Nygel Edmonds, Beau Bisharat, Chacho Ulloa, Bailey McElwain and Brandon Stephens. That's last year alone. Then throw the Demetrius Robertson fiasco on top of that.

I can tell you that's not in the recruiting office at OSU. It's next to some curtains and carpet and plus a female wrote that. If you look back at OSU training days which I watched a couple years ago OSU had two giant erase boards with recruiting targets on them. This is probably Martells wish list because if I had to guess that's his handwriting liek a women

Hampton Roads has been about as difficult a place to recruit for ND as any major region. He seems like the type of kid to break the wall down but who knows.

Wiltfong mentioned that he's close to putting in a CB here as well. Waiting on one more piece of info. He did mention that its not going to be OSU for Ewell.

Loy expects a July decision.

Seriously though....best offer list ever. It's bonkers. I really really hope we get this kid. I would consider him the crown jewel of the class so far and at a position of such need considering we didn't take a DT last class.

It's rght up there with the best of them. Would be nice for the next couple of cycles of DL recruiting to rival or OL recruiting. Add Mustiphers lil bro next year? Man, we are so close. We just need a few top edge rushers. Maybe Daelin is one of them? Still need a couple more, but I like the state of the program as it stands.

Ewell was one of the factors pushing Cage to ND if Darnell ended up at OSU, the other is Tufele saying OSU is his favorite. Ewell coming to ND leaves Jay Tufele choosing OSU as the only other thing to make Cage leave... besides if he's pizzed about being disrespected. The #6 DT shouldn't expect to be the 3rd wheel on his home state team and that's exactly what OSU and Martell are trying to make him according to the Tate's Big Board.
