This is interesting because he's openly saying that he'll silent commit next month but won't announce until the US Army Game. which leaves a lot of time to keep it under wraps or to try and throw people off.

He told 247 that it's a really tight battle between ND and Stanford. He likes the early playing time Stanford will offer and the education. He likes the ND offense (pass the ball a lot), location (closer to home), and education. Parents seem to be in ND's corner.

Wiltfong with the Stanford prediction a couple weeks ago. We'll see what he had to say post visit before I get too excited

He mentioned to Rivals that CJ Holmes committing could have a positive impact as they've been playing together since 7 years old. Hopefully that's our trump card.

How has Stanford convinced highly ranked receivers to consider them so heavily? Do people believe in Keller or something?

We may not get him in the end but ND fans have to like their chances at the moment.

Headline on rivals says he got the reassurance he was looking for from ND. No idea what that means.

It smells a lot like Black and Holmes are coming to ND. Let's hope it happens and sooner than later

Go Irish

Stanford - ND battle (this is getting old). Loy expects the Irish to get a silent commit sooner than later so he can announce publicly at an All Star game.

Seems like Stanford has replaced USC as the school we battle for on the west coast. Maybe Cal more than USC too, but damn Stanford.

Do you think it is ND has changed who they recruit to more academic fits; or is it the changes of USC dropping and the Tree winning; or are kids starting to understand the shelf life of football (for most) versus a solid college degree?

Wow. VDP is the first regular to leave OSB off his Christmas list. Strong.

OSB would be great but from what I've gathered, he appears to be trending in Stanford's direction. Further, I think Young may be the better prospect. I'd really like to add ASB to our 18 class, so I haven't given up hope on the rest of the SB family.

If OSB joins our class, I'd be a very happy man.

Just my two cents but I think he's probably overrated in current rankings, and it's interesting to me that we're filling up on the WRs we are. I thought the same thing with Stepherson last year (questioning why we'd go for a "lowly rated" guy early) and that seems to be working out fine per early returns.

I would really like to focus on getting OSB, but maybe that's just not in the cards.

OSB >>>>>> Young, imo.

OSB is a very good prospect and i still think he ends up in South Bend.

I also think Black and Holmes are Irish in the end.

Great visit, sounds like parents are pro ND. Thinks he lands at ND with the silent

If it's ND, weird that he's allegedly silenting at the end of the month, rather than doing so on his visit which he just had. Silent will be silent, so perhaps he already did it to ND?

Does anyone know how many times he has visited Stanford? I only see once on his timeline.

I ask because in his interview with Anna he said he came back to ND to confirm his feelings from the first visit. He said, "You can't make a decision off visiting a school one time."

Alll three seem like great players to me. I really can't see Young not getting snaps if he comes. He just plays football the right way.

OSB is similarly tough, but Young is more of a slot guy, so I don't think they are perfectly comparable.

The only thing I'd worry about with Black is the competition, which is terrible.

I mean he has a grand total of 2.5 more days regardless, right?

I know the sites have Pouncey listed as a WR, but I'm pretty sure that the staff views Pouncey as an athlete and it would not surprise me if he plays defense. But we seem to be in good position with Black, Jones, OSB, Young, and Calvin. I think all of those guys were worthy of an offer and I think all can be productive at ND

It sounded to me like Pouncey will start at WR, but I agree they likely see his highest upside as a DB.

Isn't it the same for Robertson?

Maybe. I never heard if he had a clear preference, one way or another. I think POuncey chose us partially because we're giving him a legit shot at WR.

Also, it sounds like OSB is not as Stanford-bound as people think.

Could simply be that he was given an assurance that he will be given a legit shot to compete for a starting position as a frosh. BK isn't afraid to play the newbies if they can handle it.
