Returning production is only part of it. Next years group will be very talented. Austin and Johnson are the two highest rated WR’s of the BK era.
This.
But catches the previous season is the only true determination when it comes talent and production. Duh.
Who is the #1 TE to you?
And please prove it.

Koon is just enjoying his final couple months on the board.
Notice he can say anyone he wants is #1 but you have to PROVE it.
He says Black would be ND’s #1 but he was low enough on scUM’s team to transfer. We must suck at WR to take their leftovers.
Henges I really hope you speak the truth.

I'm pretty sure KMET is the first TE taken.
Can't prove that. It's a draft and it's in April.

I think the more clever posters realize the "and please prove it" was tongue in cheek.
I've been painfully clear no one KNOWS who the #1 TE will be, it's all opinions until April.
My opinion is Kmet is the #1 TE. Itch away.
I don't have a clear cut #1
I think any of the following could be the first taken, depending on the team that is selecting:
- Hunter Bryant (who is minimally less athletic than Evan Engram, but is a better blocker)
- Albert Okwuegbunam (really athletic, best speed at TE in the draft)
- Jared Pinkney
- Brycen Hopkins
I personally think that none of these guys (Kmet included) would be a sure fire first round selection, most would be mid 2nd round at best. When you are looking at the offensive side of the ball this year, there are arguably 10 pass catchers that would be better than any other TE's above. Then you have RB's (Swift / Taylor / Dobbins / Etienne) and then, of coarse, OL. Point is, if some team is going to take a non-QB offensive player, probably would not be an early TE as there are so many other more talented players. It will take a special situation IMO, so no TE jumps out as being can't miss.
What leads you to say Okwu is the fastest? All the projections I've seen have him around 4.7, and several of the others I've seen are project 4.6s.
That was from the fall, pre-season stuff. I recall reading at the time, some scouts said they had him in the 4.5's, not 4.7's. Combine will settle that one.
Koon turns the Black thread into a debate about Kmet leaving. Surprise!
A lot of hype after a good freshmen year. Never really lived up
Yep. Injuries derailed a good start to his career.Black's the guy that broke each foot during his Fr & So years. Only played 3-4 games each season. Was a starter as a freshman.
Last year he was 4th or 5th in production and everyone is back except for Peoples-Jones. Apparently didn't agree with Jimmy's depth chart.
Yes high school teammate of CJ Holmes. I don't know about the silent ND commit.Wasn't he a teammate of CJ Holmes??
I thought at one point he was considered a silent commit to ND.
