You've got to be on the field and targeted by the quarterback to have receptions. Lenzy, Keys, and Tremble may lack extensive experience, but we won't know how talented they are until they see more action and are targeted on more pass plays. Given the chance, they might out-perform expectations.

Claypool gone, K met gone, Finke gone, Young gone.

Keys does nothing, Lenzy plays backup minutes and is still too tired to make away games, Brock Wright catches 2 passes per year, Jordan Johnson can't buy cigarettes, Kevin Austin doesn't even practice with the real team, and Joe Wilkins' speed is rated a 73 in my own personel NCAA 2020. Agility, 58.

Only one article I've read said he was #1....

Every big board I've seen has him middle or not included in the top 10. Perhaps his stock will soar if he declares and does well at the combine, but not sure we can act as if he's a universal and clear #1 right now. If you have anything besides the Athletic/Brugler article, would love to see it.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Koon, I think more than likely Kmet will not be back and it seems most of the beat believes the same thing. However, I’m not for bringing in Black. We need our guys who are extremely talented to get the work. I mean isn’t that what you are generally bitching about Koon, that Kelly plays the seniors to the detriment of the younger more talented players? We’ve got the guys, just give them the experience.

If we're going by stats, Hopkins has like twice the yards and more TDs. Bryant has twice the yards. Breeland has the same amount of yards on less catches. Okwuegbunam was injured but has similar stats.

I personally like Kmet the best, but I also recognize I'm being a ND homer.

So out of one side of our mouths we say we need more highly rated talent positions and more speed on offense. But at the same time we're saying we cant trust them. Ok, whatever. I'll take Johnson, Austin, Lenzy, and Keys all day over the WR group we've had over the past few years. Book mark this too when our offense is lighting it up next year thanks to the skillsets of our WRs.

Here are a few numbers for you to make you feel better.

Will Fuller
2013 - 6 receptions
2014 - 76 receptions

ESB
2015 - 1 reception
2016 - 58 receptions

Miles Boykin
2017 - 12 receptions
2018 - 59 receptions

The difference a year makes? Opportunity. There will be couple out of Johnson, Austin, Lenzy, and Keys that replicate this increase in production. Maybe there is a bit more unknown/lack of experience than an average year but the 2020 receivers are the most talented we've had imo.
