That's the only time where the hats themselves actually gave away the decision.

That's the difference between UM and ND kids. I recall on signing day when Kizer sported shamrock embroidered pants with a sport coat. Classy!

Holy Sh*t that is a really douchey look. Must not have friends nice enough to let him know. Or maybe they also think its a good look.

To be fair it might be a cultural thing. The lei obviously is. Maybe the money thing is too, their version of a gift card.

or maybe it's a Polynesian thing with a Benton Harbor twist?

Michigan jokes I'm completely okay with, but giving this kid a hard time is just incredibly childish for adults.

Especially when if you listen to him explain why he's wearing the lei it's because of his family's Hawaiian roots and "that's what they gave me."

If your aunt gives you crappy Christmas sweater, you wear the crappy Christmas sweater. It was a gift.

Like a lot of people I didn't listen to his announcement. However to anyone like me that simply sees the pic of the money, they might think scUM is playing by SEC rules.

Yeah, I don't really like picking on kids so I will pick on the family as he said it was a gift. Giving him a cash lei to wear to declare your commitment to play amateur college football where outright paying the players is still frowned upon (and sometimes even punished) was probably not the best message to send. Especially visually because I did not watch his commitment video, but every picture I see is just $$$.

Disagree. If adults weren't around to tell kids how stupid they look/are acting when their parents fail to do so, a child's education is limited to a myopic "home schooling."

*TLDR: don't wear a fucking money lei and make a grand spectacle of your announcement if you can't handle people calling you a dummy for it

I bet if CMH committed to ND the money lei wouldn't have been an issue....

This one still stings a bit, I wish he would've committed to ND. I remember seeing him at the B&G game in 2015, he seemed to be a frequent visitor at ND until earlier this year.

Yes it would've. It doesn't matter if it's your kid or a stranger's kid who cr@ps their pants, they both stink.

ND does not need developmental tweeners coming in at DE. Look at his tape and then look at Daley's. Daley's 4x better. Now factor in the competition, Daley's is 10x better.
Same goes for most of the FL / GA prospects. Recruiting MI outside of the Detroit area heavies is a waste.

Agree with this for the most part. There are a few hidden gems outside the Detroit area. I have seen a few of his games and I've said it all along...not overly impressed. Especially with the talent level of his competition. Haven't seen what he's done at camps but wasn't a big want for me and not a big loss. Maybe he will prove me wrong.

As for the money lei...would've hated it just as much if he committed to ND.

Well here's your chance. Javon McKinley had the same thing for his graduation. I think criticizing this type of thing in a high school kid makes no sense. I shudder at thinking of the stuff I thought was cool back then.

Whole thing is so shady. First of all, the Achilles injury is almost two years old which means it was a year an a half old when he enrolled early. Second, he played in 2016.

So he was healthy enough to play football, lift, put out tape good enough to get him a scholarship offer, enroll at Michigan... but then was "banged up" and didn't play in the spring game. And now he's blaming retirement on a 2 year old pre-existing condition? I guess it sort of makes sense, if the reason he couldn't play/participate was the Achilles acting up.

Also, never forget him talking shit at Brian KeLLLLy and ND.
