I know we always harp on offering guys because we always have room, but this is the kinda guy I want to get an offer to reach the 85 scholly limit. Isaiah is worthy of a scholarship on his own merit, but his flexibility is what I'm talking about for the kind of prospect I want as a "depth/filler" scholly. Somebody who can play multiple positions on either side of the ball, that's the kind of "filler" athlete I want to reach 85. That or just take 4 guys on both sides of the line every year regardless of the numbers.

Are any of those real competition? If you go by WR, there are a couple of teams on there that don't even have receiver in their playbook. Another appears to simply be the obligatory "state school". The others haven't done much in football over the last 10-15 years.

I like when the offer list outweighs the ratings. This one is the opposite.

At this point the ND offer is the signal that a WR or Olineman is quality. We have a lot of evidence that Denbrock and Kelly can identify talent.

Great point, DN!

I wonder if Isaiah isn't thinking there may be defense in his future, with his top 6 list.

“I kind of want to make a decision soon, so I am kind of cutting down on the schools,” Robertson said. “This is a top six, but I wouldn’t say a final six. Things could change. As of right now, these are pretty much the schools that are most intriguing.”
“Illinois and Notre Dame are the two schools I have visited the most, talked to the coaches the most and know the most about,” Robertson said.

“It was extremely satisfying,” he said. “There is a lot of opportunity at that school and just things that could go good for me there. So, it was extremely satisfying knowing I have an opportunity to play there and I am pretty excited about that.”

“I am extremely excited about Lovie Smith,” Robertson said. “It’s really a new direction that Illinois is moving in and it looks to be a direction that is going to the top. It would be a great chance to be a part of that and a lot of local kids like Ricky Smalling, Juawan Treadwell and Houston Griffith are getting excited about it so it would be interesting to see if everybody came together and went there, see what we could do.”

visiting Illinois this saturday and then iowa later

Been a long time since the Illini were relevant in the B1G. Lovie has his work cut out for him.

Solid pickup. Good athlete that can play both ways and has a nice frame to build on.
