Best year was 900 yards and 7 TDs I think. And that's with no competition at WR. In the PAC 12. That doesn't catch my eye at all for a guy who's a 5-star (considering there are like 20 a year). That's me though.

No competition? Kenny Lawler and Chris Harper were both awesome WR's that he shared the spotlight with. There was a third guy playing alongside him the past two or three years that was good but I can't remember his name. I'd have to check their roster.

I've never heard of them. Don't blame me for not watching California football :).

But a 5 star WR that's best year is 900 yards and 7 TDs isn't 5-star production to me. I never heard Bryce Treggs' name mentioned in 3 years of watching college football while he was there. I guess that's my point on disappearing.

This has now officially rivaled the McKenzie recruitment.

Hindsight is great and if we get down to the brass tacks, there were two major red flags. The first was him not signing on signing day. Regardless of reasons given, it's a rarity when kids wait. The second was when he got his SAT's back and didn't sign which basically showed that his story of not signing on signing day because of SAT scores is probably dog doodoo.

Just because you've never heard his name doesn't mean he disappeared lol. Plenty people know that he was a pretty good WR on a team that was able to spread the ball around. All you had to do was catch the late Pac12 game featuring Cal to see him.

Any JUCOs that he's looking at?

CAD junior college. (Cal Athletic Dept.) 5 semesters and you are off to the NFL, only 4.5 if you know you aren't playing in an after finals bowl.

It's been about 30 years since the death penalty at SMU. Let's not rule out those oil tycoons getting a little uppity.

Fertitta's cousin runs U of H. Restaurant and Casino money.

Cal will only get in trouble if they speak about him publicly... No? They won't get in trouble if they speak only with him and he doesn't come was my understanding. That's what got Sark & SC a slap with Daelin Hayes the news releases and discussing him as part of the program.

I don't expect 5 star WRs to turn out pretty good. There are like two 5-star WRs in a class. Their expectations are elite college players, and 1st round picks.

I heard of the other WRs that were tearing up college football without watching their specific teams (Dotson, Coleman, Treadwill, Fuller). Treggs just didn't live up to my expectations.

So to recap, it's March, everyone else in his class has signed, and he's about to send financial aid work to GT, Stanford, ND, Bama, Georgia, and California?

Can he really not rule out like 3 of those that he knows he's not going to go to, to not lead on the fans and coaches of those schools?

How do you define clueless again?

There is a difference between the bolded and the original statement you made, though.

And I get it... you were just trying to be tongue-in-cheek about Cal football. But factually incorrect statements bother me.

I honestly never heard of him in college and have no idea if he's at Cal, in the pros, or entering the draft right now. Probably because I'm on Eastern time zone.

I wouldn't mind and would give BK some love if ND just removed themselves from this circus.

loy said he heard pro bama stuff over the weekend regarding him

At this point, I hope he goes elsewhere. I have no issues with the young man taking his time and making a decision that he feels is best for him. But sometimes a player just doesn't fit with what a coach, team, etc., is trying to do and build upon. I don't want to say high maintenance but if his recruitment has been this much of a circus, I could only imagine what it would be when he isn't seeing the touches he or others may thing he should get. I get that sense with DRob and/or his handlers. Wish him well wherever he eventually lands.

This ^^^

His actions clearly show that he puts his needs/desires over the established process. How does a coach not think that won't carry over into his program's process?

I mean, how many times can someone scream LOOK AT ME! ... without opening their mouth?

Don't care at this point, and I'm in T-Towns camp. These players that flip flop this much rarely seem to work out for us. Seems like they end up transferring eventually or they don't live up to the hype.

I get if you guys want to agree or disagree with allowing Demetris to come to ND, that's fine, but let's not call him names and the like.

I totally understand the "we already burned the boats, if he wanted to be a part of the team he should have joined with the rest of the class", but not any "he's a punk; he's clueless" etc.

Kid still hasn't signed away his future to a school yet, and honestly, that's fine by me. He is the one who has to live with the consequences of his actions, good or bad, not us.

No calling the kid an idiot until he's at least out of high school for Pete's sake!

Loy saying that from what he's hearing it sounds like the ND staff is not really pursuing this anymore. We'd take him but we aren't recruiting him. I'm wondering if that is the reason he's signing this paperwork with Cal and GT. Probably trying to reinvigorate a dying recruitment, lol

wonder if staff should have (or actually did) play the "sign with us on NSD or we're done here" card.

If we have ceased contact like another poster reported and we were the only team pushing for his signature on NSD (like has been reported), this would like be the case.

If not NSD, we clearly drew a line in the sand a while back.

If so, I'm proud of the coaching staff......to a point. I like the fact that they're not in the business of playing games.
