100 points seems like a BIG jump. Is this out of 2400 or 1600 points? I know they are getting rid of the Writing requirement in 2016.

This Saturday is the last opportunity to take the current SAT. It changes with the next testing date.

I hope he takes the Alabama visit and gets into Stanford. Nothing he's going to see at Alabama will be new to him. He's been there more than once and was once committed there. He decommitted for a reason.

As for Stanford, I hope he gets in if that's what the kid really wants. Hell, maybe he wants to get in just to prove to people that he could do it.

Something doesn't add up. Taking the SAT again and holding off on a NSD decision because you're really stuck on Stanford is, relatively speaking in recruiting, kind of a big decision.

So big that he's not even 100% sure he's even taking the SAT again or going to Alabama or trying to pull both off?

The ND coaches just saw him and I doubt he told them about this possible plan/decision. If he did the staff must feel confident he won't get into Stanford anyway and will wait for him to decide after NSD. Plus, none of the ND sites are reporting this so logically what's going on?

Are we gonna get any good news today? Good grief

BK better not pull a Charlie Weis and put all of his eggs in one basket with DR. He should have more than just Nate Johnson as a backup plan

Why? Defense needs the attention. WR is a luxury, not a need.

Sorry but I don't see the bad news.

Terrance Alexander, Miciah Quick, JuJu Smith, Nelson Agholor.

Its pretty much a fact that we usually lose out with the 5 stars that we are still in contention for on NSD.

I didn't realize that you meant situations specifically regarding NSD decisions. Your post seemed to indicate that you meant situations where they are trying to improve their test scores.

Or we won with Lynch, Ishaq, Kiel, etc. While they were EEs their decision came down to right before enrolling.

My bad. I think Loy said that his test scores are good enough for ND so he wouldn't be retaking it for ND.

There are a few situations where ND has won but a huge majority of the time Notre Dame seems to be getting the short end of the stick

I'd rather be in our position with D-Rob than the other schools involved.

Yup. But...
We're in better position than any of them individually. But we only need to lose him to one of them, and cumulatively the prospects of Stanford, Alabama and Georgia are probably better than ours alone.
Anyway, we'll see.

A Georgia article from a couple of weeks ago, Demetris claimed that he needed to add "approximately 100 points" to his SAT score to get into Stanford. That could've been before or after he got his first semester grades back which I'm assuming could change that number.

He also said that even if he got a high enough score for Stanford, it doesn't necessarily mean he would go there, he wanted to see if he could get accepted to one of the elite academic universities.

The rest of the article definitely has a strong Georgia slant and not having a lot of quotes from Demetris. So I take the rest with a grain of salt.

https://www.dawgnation.com/football/recruiting/5-star-says-stanford-still-leads-but-that-he-has-a-surprise-for-uga-fans

That article said if Stanford doesn't materialize, he'll choose between Georgia, Alabama and Georgia Tech?

Are we really just a bunch of hopeful idiots? Did the reporter misreport this?

What are the chances that DR is telling everyone in the south what they want to hear so that they aren't as on his back as they could be? As far as taking the SAT again and waiting til after signing day, I don't blame him a bit. He has all of the power in this situation and after he signs, he has little. Think that the 4 star OT from Michigan that basically got kicked to the curb today after being committed for over a year wishes he had some power right now, as he restarts his recruiting process? As far as DR, it would probably feel great to be smart enough to go to Stanford/ND and athletic enough to be recruited by the national champs so heavily.

When I was coaching I always told my players to study like they wanted to go to the Ivy League. They may not go there, but it would be great to have the option to go anywhere in the country that you wanted to without limits. Maybe he wants to be able to tell his kids/grandkids that he was smart enough to get accepted at Stanford and ND, so they needed to study. It is frustrating on this board, but I think that it is great that he is working so hard to increase his options.

Now, DR, you still need to make the right choice and choose the clover, not the tree!!
