I've been out of the loop for a couple weeks. According to my observations...

1) Daelin is ours to lose again?
2) People want Daelin again?

What happened to the overrated talk?

Fairly typical that those two items work in concert. If Daelin picks MSU, it will flip back to overrated.

I doubt it, but loy and wiltfong have the behind the scenes thread that they put some of this kind of info out there after signing day...hope this is included this year!

I'm not sure there were people here saying we shouldnt take him. And his risks are still present.

But there are a lot of people who get paid for this 'crootin stuff (coaches, pay sites, etc..) that have this kid pegged to be very good (with his limited HS action in consideration).

So, yes, I think most people want him. But, as I mentioned his liabilities still exist.

That went by the way side as soon as he started looking like Irish. That's the way we roll around here (and pretty much any other teams fanbase web site).

There were several saying - "I would take (insert much lower rated prospect here) over Hayes"...They sited his injury history and limited games played in high school. Yes, the risks are there, but his ceiling is much higher than anyone else anyone listed with the same floor. The floor for all of these kids is they don't pan out for one reason or another. I understand he may have a higher likelihood to end up at his floor, but to win you have to swing for the fences.

I can only speak for myself but my feelings on this are the same. I'll take him because he's a heck of a talent but there are plenty of guys that are rated substantially lower than him that I want more. And just like with every player that signs with ND, I'll be happy he's Irish. That doesn't take away from previous comments about lack of production or even on field play being overrated.

While I don't think Fuller will be back, I tend to agree with NDC. BK has built up the depth now where we really shouldn't be seeing any type of drop off. Next man in!

I'm not sure about Fuller either but agree this program is now in a position where there shouldn't be any drop off. Disagree with NDC on KIzer. He's the starter next year.

I'm still concerned he may cause some headaches for us going forward but I'd love for him to pick us. He has too much talent.

Same here. I really hope we land him and that his shoulder heals properly. The athleticism is off the charts! I still remember his comments after Irish Invasion about how much he loved ND and has been a want ever since. He has had quite the roller coaster recruitment, but hopefully today proves he was worth the wait.

Definitely understand how people feel like he might be a headache, but he really isn't. He had to deal with some things out of his control, which impacted his process. I am sure there will be tons of video interviews today and I bet he will sound Jaylon Smithesque in terms of maturity. I would also bet you see and hear a relieved kid that the process is over.

Have seen, can confirm. Sounds like a dynamite kid with a great work ethic.

always felt he was a good kid, just prone to hyperbole when speaking to recruiting reporters. Getting him in the class with Khalid Kareem could be an awesome duo down the road

Good to know. I remember having similar concerns about Luatua and he has been a model citizen so far.

To piggyback, his blocking has been incredible! He was one of the missing pieces to our running game, and has paid huge dividends. Just need to add that QB rollout play that has him catching a few TD's at the goal line. Actually, I really hope to see that in the bowl game. I swear it works everytime I see it lol.

One of them was a custody issue I believe which is why he had to move back to MI for his senior year after initially moving to CA.
