If josh has 757, then he broke the freshman rushing record by 1 yard held by Jerome heavens
Cfbstats has him at 760 for the season.
20+ pounds on his frame is a no brainer. Exciting to think about what he could do.
I cant see not having this kid starting next year. If you want Prosise, run a split backfield. I dont know where that puts Folston next year.
Josh Adams’ rushing total tonight is a Notre Dame freshman record, topping the 148 yards by Jerome Heavens on Nov. 8, 1975, against Georgia Tech in “the Rudy game.”
Adams now has 757 rushing yards on the year, second in school history for a freshman behind only the 786 yards by Darius Walker in 2004.
Adams had his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the year tonight, setting a school freshman record.
I would much rather have Folston / Adams combo. Let Cj go back to the jet sweeps, approximate 5 carries a game and use him in motion to get the a Mitch match.Adams is so much better getting north and south the Cj.
He played way better than I ever could have expected. I was worried about his running inside, but he ran hard yesterday. Add a few more lbs and he will be a beast. Needs to work on his cutting. Josh is a great open field runner, but struggled to slow his momentum when trying to make cuts and his cuts were choppy and not quick.
Anyone think Prosise might be gone after this year? He had a solid year and coming back probably means split carries with Folston and Adams.
The guy was on pace to shatter Notre Dame rushing records before injuries and you want to relegate him to five touches a game?
What would you do? I really don't know. How do you split three carries between them?
I wasn't happy when he committed and thought we settled. Boy was I wrong
And have enough balls to spread around to our loaded WR group. What would you do? I really don't know. How do you split three carries between them?

Set two freshman rushing records last night and will own the season freshman record with 30 yds in a bowl game.

You're kind of contradicting yourself. When he adds weight and muscle, he's going to be a pounder / slasher. He's never going to be a cutter / dancer. He played way better than I ever could have expected. I was worried about his running inside, but he ran hard yesterday. Folston would have had a monster year behind this year's OL.
Nick Weishar absolutely destroyed 15 on StanfordCopied from another thread, put here for record-keeping purposes:

From that article. Watching it in real time was impressive. But when you can watch it a few times in a row? My god, the speed burst from Adams at about the 45-yard line, when it looked like #11 was going to catch him... You can literally see Adams hitting his second gear and just running away. Amazing.
Hasn't gotten much hype, but Adams now owns the freshman record for rushing yards at ND.
117 carries for 835 yards (7.1 average) and 6 TDs.
Also added 7 catches for 42 yards and a TD.
Even more impressive is that he had 6 games earlier in the season where he had 5 or less touches.
The last 5 games of the season, Adams had 83 carries for 570 yards (6.9 average). That was against legit competition (Pitt, Wake, BC, Stanford, OSU). Over a 12-game season, that would be a season of 1,368 rushing yards. Not bad.
Also, somehow he had the best tackle of anyone on the team yesterday so there's that too.
