Yeah, Torres' leaping shoulder into Hossa's head is comparable.
OKAY.
Seabrook didn't leave his feet, made contact with his chest first, and hit a player that is a known cheap shot artist.
Hossa almost never lays a hit, so to target him with dirty stuff is whack.
There is a difference.
Backes is a dirty player that tasted his own BS.
If that hit was on anyone else (besides Jackman), I'd be screaming foul.
Penalty? Yes. Suspension? No.
When you play on the dirty edge, you can't cry foul when someone plays that was back.
Regardless of what I or anyone else says, this is the NHL playoffs.
Passions run high and fans see what they see.
I'm quite sure my views on this subject are just as skewed as I feel yours are... probably more.
This goes back to the eighties for me.
My hatred for St Louis is only rivaled by my hatred for the North Stars.
Fuck Backes, Fuck the Blues.

I agree with you on a few things here. Torres had a history of bad head shots, and he targeted Hossa. So he absolutely deserved his 25game suspension. I wouldn't compare Seabrooks hit to the Torres hit at all. However, Seabrook did start to leave his feet before contact was made with Backes head. I'm predicting he will get Atleast 2-5 games. There is no way he is going to get anywhere near the punishment that Torres received.
