That's a good win for ND.

Can't wait to be in Death Valley.

Did anybody remember to mention how Louisville's jerseys are uglier than sin?

Clemson in a close one on the road against Petrino's O. Unimpressive win, but young and talented. And most important a W. Will be better by Oct3.

We can take them.

Agreed, IF the Irish stay healthy and focused! Watching the game last night, they definitely looked beatable, even in the confines of Clemson Memorial Stadium in Death Valley.

im glad Clemson is gonna be undefeated going into the ND game, they tend to choke in the big games when the spotlight is on. Their fans will expect more from them and this puts extra pressure on them

Assuming ND doesn't lay a massive egg next week, this has to be college gameday and the ABC primetime game, right? They can't go to a 3rd Bama game again.

The GameDay crew loves the Clemson campus. I'd say it's pretty much a certainty.

Next week is huge for ND... get up big and get CJ out of the game... give the Frosh RB's lots of carries... Tune up and get ready for Clemson... If ND was able to hold G Tech's offense... No reason they can't dominate Clemson's suspect O Line

Umass is not a complete walk in the park. They have an NFL QB prospect.

Agreed and BVG has shown to get gashed equally by the pass and run. In our limited sample size, we've had more trouble with the passing game than the running game. Let's hope our D shows up two weeks in a row (and hopefully three?)

If it wasn't for Clemson getting a bye week before this game, I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't even be worried in the slightest.

I think a lot of the Clemson magic left with Chad Morris who is doing a pretty good job in his first three games with the SMU mustangs.

Their amount of prep for our game and the easy schedule they've had so far this year should give them a HUGE advantage as far as preparation, rest, and readiness.

At least we are playing UMASS though instead of another P5 team. If the boys stay healthy, I think we've got this one unless we see just an ungodly game from Deshaun Watson who is missing his big man Mike Williams (who I hope is okay, ugly incident on first TD of the season).

I do believe this is accurate.

I can't help but think BVG has to go zone much more this game. Too much speed outside for or DBs man on man. Best Bet iMO is to throw some confusing looks at Watson and make him go through his progressions. Not so worried about the running game but we can be beat by their quick passing game.

So hopefully it will give our pass defense some needed experience to sharpen up for future strong passing teams. Thinking most of our pass defense woes have been due to inactivity followed by lack of being pushed hard by the competition. Our DBs are competitors so hopefully, iron sharpens iron.

The only team that has suffered more player losses than ND is Clemson. They have had a ton of injuries and disciplinary issues.

Feeling good about this one, but I need to take it one game at a time.

Clemson set up their schedule pretty nicely. Not only did they get a bye before a home game against us, but their next opponent (GT) played Notre Dame in the last game they have tape on.

I think playing Umass is better for us than a bye week. More live reps for Kizer in what SHOULD BE an easy game. Clemson will be loaded to bear for us, obviously the AD circled ND the minute they booked the game setting up that bye week.

BTW the bars close at midnight on Saturday. So get your drinking in before then. They are not open Sundays either.

are you serious? I'm so upset that I won't be able to be that Notre Dame guy in the campus bar after we win.

Still looking for a lead on tickets btw
