It seems silly to drop him, given the circumstances, but it's not like it has any impact on him as an on-field player. I'm sure he'll be whatever he's destined to be, regardless of what he drops or is elevated to in the rankings.
But so much of college recruiting is based upon the big four services. And if that whole evaluation process is based upon the hypocrisy (and I believe it is) of performing for a particular service, by attending, and therefore hyping a particular services event, then that is bull shiit.
A perfect recruiting system would be an evaluation of a player versus others at his position for a school based upon what that school runs, and needs, and their depth chart.
So what is all this cultish adoration for certain recruits?
Another way of looking at it, is ND has outpaced every other school in the nation for it's offensive line recruits in the last six years. If the three they have recruited this year work out, and if Chase and Tony work out, then Parker, Tony, and Chase having three star ratings by one service, in particular calls those ratings into doubt.
