Doing it for the right reasons at least:

"I have some family matters to address, with a child due this summer, and I feel it is in my best interest to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft," Battle said in a release. "I want to thank everyone at Clemson, especially Coach [Dabo] Swinney and the assistant coaches, for what they have done for me the last three years. I also want to thank my teammates. They have all had a big impact on my career."

And seems like a significant loss:

Battle had been slated to start at left tackle for the Tigers after starting 11 of Clemson's 12 games last season. All in all he has started 16 of his 26 games at the school. Luckily, freshman tackle Mitch Hyatt enrolled early, so if he's needed to make an early appearance at least the former four-star has already unpacked his bags and settled in with the team.

Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell, the former Vanderbilt coach, could choose to shuffle offenisve line around senior center Ryan Norton, the group's lone returning starter.

That's fantastic.

Clemson announced earlier on Thursday Battle will enter the NFL Supplemental Draft, though sources told us he left the team because this was the third and final strike for the senior left tackle. We were told, “He had no money left in the bank.”

I tried to get into it but it seems a bit....overblown? I didn't get hyped but maybe that's bias. I thought they were going to have some earth shattering music start or some big explosion or something.

Really? It's one of the most badass entrances in the sport IMO. You've got the buses, the rock, the run down the hill, the balloons, the flags with the crowd cheering the individual letters as they come up, and the fireworks. I don't really know what else you could've expected besides Dabo parachuting in.

Samesies. Their "traditions" all seem forced and unoriginal. I mean, their team gets in buses and do a lap around the stadium, so they can enter a stadium filled with balloons, and touch a rock that some dude 50 years ago said to "keep their dirty hands off of it if you're not here to work". A rock that is damaged... And from California.

Did they steal their tradition from a kids birthday party?

Well, this explains it. I was a bit too ADD and moved the clip to the point just before they ran down the hill, ha ha. I thought the rest was just filler.

Yeah... Yeah... That sign also wasn't famous until we made it so. It's also a small slice of our "tradition". The grotto, the march, the gold helmets, the echoes. Those are all things that make you feel. Balloons and bus rides don't do it for me. I get that people like it, just not my thing.

This is the one game this year that I want to see, these people are waiting to embarrass the 'Irish'. They think its a lock. I've heard it on the radio down here in Atl many times. Its not even a question in their minds. Problem for them is this Notre Dame team is one of their best in many years. These are the games you have to make a statement in -like next years game at Georgia.
