I'm really like this adding 5th year transfers idea. Now he isn't going to jump to the top of the depth chart when he steps foot on campus but he adds much needed depth and hopefully pushes Max and Elijah to up their game as well as contributes on Special teams.

Kid brings the crunch. He should be Capn' Crunch....can't wait to see him blitz and destroy a QB or two as well...

Whats up with this off season...QUIET signing day, some coaching changes, but minimal drama, and even some welcome good news today...Waiting for a Paul Bunyan sized shoe to drop here...but its been nice.

I'm very glad we have competition at safety. This puts heat on Shumate to consistently play better and hopefully take that big step for the secondary we need for 2015 season.

Haha...crazy how we see things so differently. The Alford stuff was major drama IMHO. People were flipping out. We had one (since banned) member calling for us to fire Denbrock, perhaps our best recruiter and position coach combined, to give Alford the OC gig just to keep him. Losing Cooks still stings (for me anyway...he was killing it in both recruiting and coaching), so losing both Cooks and Alford was pretty tough.

But yeah, it looks like it'll work itself out quite nicely, which is why I never flip out until things shake out. And getting Sebastian is a great addition in a position in serious need of depth. High character kid as well.

Think this will help push Max and Elijah as well as adding much needed depth.

Riggs, now Sebastian. I wonder if this is going to become an annual thing?

Man, this is just a huge pickup. It's a position of major need and Avery comes across as a great young man.

I wonder if this pickup will allow us to redshirt somebody who wouldn't otherwise have been able to? If so, could pay dividends beyond this year, even.

Don't know if it'll prevent anyone from saving a year. I think Nico will see the field on Special Teams. Williams...don't know, maybe it saved one for him. I think a lot will depend on whether or not Baratti stays healthy too.

I wonder how long the conversations have been going on between Avery and the coaches? This seems like the perfect example of IE flipping out about how bad of a job the coaches were doing in the recruitment of a safety, all while they had a plan in place...

This is a great pick-up. I love his aggressiveness.

Very early. The Golson and Frozen Five meltdowns came well into the offseason. Don't you dare get my hopes up for no more drama.

Paul's been busy. Let's hope that "Spring Thaw" doesn't arrive till late October, if at all:

Agree injuries will be the key.

So true.

Any way he is able to participate in Spring practices, or will he have to wait because he is not currently enrolled?

I could get used to this kind of thing. What a win/win for the program and the young men who get to set themselves up with a postgrad degree from one of the country's best schools.
