Profile front page says IRISH are recruiting him for OLB while all other schools are saying DE. Did I miss something about him playing DE. At 6'4 and 235 he could play Sam or Will or pass rush in 3rd and longs. Definitely has a motor.

I absolutely love him as a pass rusher. He reminds me of a slighter but taller Kolin Hill. He can easily get to 255 and keep his quickness. Will not play next year but he has a ton of upside.

BVG is going to the Diacco mold for LB's.

Yeah, I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I never got why our staff made him such a priority. There must be something they like that I can't see or appreciate. To me, he looks way too thin for a DE and his highlights are underwhelming.

If he's truly going to play DE at ND he's going to need at least a full year of college S&C before he can be a regular contributor.

Eric Striker 6' 220. Almost a clone. Wallace is a little more athletic, while Striker has a little more strength to his game. Wallace will have no problem getting up to 240-250 to play as WDE. This is a offer to counter the spread attacks ND faces, so he can play the role of a Eric Stricker/Anthony Barr in a Nickel/Dime.

To anyone who is skeptical, You better believe if Brian Kelly and B Van Gorder want, I want. I think they know by now who can play and who cant. Bodyweight overrated many times. SEE SEC CONFERENCE LBs AND DEs.

And I don't think there is anything wrong with that. In fact, I would actually encourage that. With the all the freshmen sophomores playing right now in 2014, there is no reason to try and rush Bo into playing time in 2015.

I agree, the 4 freshman DE's (Trumbetti, Blankenship, Hill, and Williams) are going to be hard to keep off the field over the next 2-3 years. Why not bring in a kid that has some really good upside that we can let marinate for a couple years.

If BVG stays a while, he's gonna have so much ammo.

Success is gonna build some pretty sick recruiting classes.

I really feel like if he weighed 225 right now he would be a solid 4 star prospect. JMO

I personally don't see the Striker comparison. Wallace is longer and more athletic. In a 4 man front, Striker plays standing up as a LB whereas Wallace would be asked to be a DE.

if he can have the impact on 3rd and long that Hill is having now then I will be happy. I doubt he will ever be any every down kind of player but in BVG's scheme he will get some decent opportunities no doubt

This young fellow sounds like a good guy from a good family, so A-OK on the foundationstones. Football-wise he sounds like a space closer --- explosive, fast, and long --- a 21st century style defensive player. In my view, even some of the recruiting scouts haven't caught up to this vision yet ... but Kelly and VanGorder have [Thanks be to God!].

The way recruiting has become guys like he Bo Wallace get overlooked because they aren't turnkey prospects. Just like buying a house or a business, the convenience of just buying and moving in or taking over is nice and easy but sometimes getting that fixer upper cheap and putting time and money into it is the better in the long run.

IMO that's the case with Bo. He's got the raw talent, the speed and athleticism are there to be special but he's way to light for a 4-3 OLB let alone a 4-3 DE.

He's one for the future as he needs to add size but putting on good weight while not losing his speed and athleticism is going to take time.
