This guy had the best seat in the house.

Amazing camera angle on that play. You can see Koyack run the whole route. If only homeboy had managed to get the actual catch in the shot ...

haha... One year after the BCS we'd finally get a favorable major bowl match up... I'd take that in a heartbeat.

On the TD video, I love the lep going ape shit at the end... haha

It's hard to imagine Marshall beating out East Carolina, Cincy, or Memphis for the Group of Five bowl bid, even if Marshall is undefeated. That schedule is horrendous.

I was just watching the Inside Notre Dame Football thing they always have on Sundays. I noticed that Zaire never came up to congratulate Golson. Did I just miss him, was he not on the sideline, or what?

He also has Oklahoma, Michigan St., and Alabama in the playoffs so I'll stop commenting there. And before someone tells me that could happen, you're crazy.
Why couldn't it? Alabama could win out, including victories over Mississippi State and Auburn. Michigan State wins out. Oklahoma wins out.

I tried earlier to distinguish early season line play, from playing against Stanford, by pointing out how much better ND did on Saturday, than Stanford's other opponents this year, including SC who also won by 3 points. But no one seems interested.

We have a young team and so many want to find something wrong with them.

Learning on the job against the top defense in he country. Fair points by Kelly that he recognizes they had a tough opponent and getting owned on some level was going to be in the cards regardless.

Or it could be just nice talk b/c he is afraid of making a known problem worse by bruising egos.

I said that earlier and agree. Elmer looks lost at times, but I think BK needs to stick with a group so they can gel.

Rewatching the game

Mayock is a prick. He has a crush on Stanford (excluding Hogan)and talks alot of ish about ND.

We out toughed them. Our D looked better/ more physical than theirs. Pretty awesome thing to see given the fact that it is Stanford. We are way faster too.

Eye test says we should have won by more.

Yeah, what the hell was that about? He's the color guy for ND. I'm not expecting peaches and cream from him, but he was gushing all over Stanford. The Colts Ravens game was the same way. They gushed all over the Ravens D, but the Colts D played lights out and only gave up 13 points.

I saw that as well, then noticed 17 for Stanford looking up at the crowd wondering what he was thinking?

My favorite post game observation is that it rained all day, and yet the field was in good enough shape that our QB was able to make sudden cuts to buy himself time on the game-winning TD, and that our TE was able to run a clean route and plant in the endzone.

Turf sucks.

I'll be you anything you want no more than 1 of those 3 teams make the playoff.

By that logic, OSU has just a good a chance as MSU to make the playoff since neither of them will be playing anyone else except for each other.

Mayock is pumping our opponents to help us move up in the polls!

I rarely see him in camera shots.

They would have to beat MSU in East Lansing. Ouch.

Urban's good enough to win one game he shouldn't, so I could see it. Their schedule is absolutely pathetic though.

The radio guys sell Maryland as a moderately big time game... I hate this place.

Sparty is entirely dependent on Oregon. If Oregon starts scoring 60 again, Sparty gets in from the Big 10 with one loss.

The Big Ten is not getting any teams in barring epic collapses by the other conferences. Most people think the SEC will get 2 teams no matter what. My comment about this particular Phil Steele prediction being awful was because despite being "possible" he went with an extremely unlikely scenario.

I think there's a better chance Alabama loses 2 more games than none. Oklahoma's resume will be pretty terrible considering they already lost. They would need TCU to lose to Baylor and beat Baylor themselves to even have a chance.

For whom ever asked, Jaylon Smith had 14 tackles, 7 solos, I believe. Schmidt had 7; Onwualu almost had a manslaughter.

Cole Luke had two picks, a forced fumble, and four tackles if I am not mistaken.

Once again, I would like to know who has a better front than Stanford in college football. I suppose there are teams with more exotic linebackers, but overall, I doubt we see a team with this kind of front seven all season. They were a lot quicker than the old massive Stanford defenses, but still massive! Anderson was as good as I have seen anywhere all season.

The first half was a little rough, but the second half was outstanding on the part of the offensive line. They seemed to jell, and work better in combination blocking, except when Anderson blew Elmer up. The ND offensive line looked like they outlasted at least, or maybe wore down that brutal Stanford defense! (To me.)
Mississippi State has a "sick " front seven, but I don't think we're going to see them.

I'm starting to think that Stanford's coach isn't a great game day coach.

I am starting to think David Shaw will be coaching on Sundays soon.

Just saw this screenshot from the game. Apparently Stanford was our first Power 5 game this year

My grandpa (Wild Bill) used to say the best reason to keep your ears open, your brain workin', and your mouth closed, was to promote healthy skepticism. He used to say healthy skepticism was the only thing that kept a man from looking just as foolish as most of the experts!
