Not surprised to see it done, but it can't be official for another two weeks or so, right?

Side note: if the numbers I'm seeing for K Love's extension are correct (120/5 years), then Lebron will only be the highest paid player on his team for 1 year. Funny enough, that will be the only year that Lebron is the highest paid player on his team. I guess he's really hoping for a big cap increase in two years.

So it's Wiggins, Bennett and a 1st rounder. Kinda steep but I feel like it needs to be done.

Well it's highly unlikely that they would've done a Wiggins for Love swap. Bennett would be a backup anyways and has proven exactly nothing on the court. Plus, that first round pick next year will most likely be in the mid 20s.

Still a little steep but the Cavs wanted the trade more than the Flip Saunders.

It's a protected 1st rounder, and the Cavs should be elite for the next 5 years, so the first rounder should be of little significance (nothing more than a 25+ overall pick).

Bennett has shown absolutely nothing as a pro so far, and Wiggins COULD be an elite defender and slasher in the NBA (and honestly turn into a star), but could's and what-ifs don't win titles. The bottom line is the Cavs have a much better chance to win the title this year and during a 5 year run with Love than with Wiggins, if for nothing more than surety of product and immediate maximization of roster.

Plus, I honestly think Love with Lebron is better than Wiggins, unless Wiggins took a big leap early and decided to play a 3rd wheel Scottie Pippin role to Lebron and Irving. Wiggins is a potentially elite perimeter defender and slasher, but the slasher part is relegated by the fact that he would have the ball in half court sets probably pretty little. Most of his touches would come via open shots created by Lebron or Irving, and spot up shooting is his weakness right now.

Love, on the other hand, gives Lebron and Irving exactly what they need RIGHT NOW to win. A top 10 player in the game who stretches bigs out of the lane with his great 3 point shooting on offense, and who rebounds and outlet passes on an elite level on D is PRECISELY what a team with Lebron and Irving need. Love is Chris Bosh if Bosh still liked to rebound, defend his position decently, and pass well.

It's going to be a lot of fun to watch this Cavs team, and this is coming from a Knick fan. How do you defend a lineup with Lebron, Irving, Love, Mike Miller and Varejao / Thompson on the court? Irving or Lebron have a wide open lane with the other, Love and Miller spotting up behind the 3 point line and the PF crashing the boards from the opposite side? Nightmare.

I'm sure Coach Thibs has a couple ideas. Rose Jimmy Taj on Kyrie Lebron Love (respectively) with Noah still anchoring the middle. Those should be some pretty freaking awesome games. Man, I'm almost as excited for the next NBA season as I am the NFL season (I know. Blasphemy, right?)

Damn, I was hoping the Sixers could slide in with Thad for Bennett.

I feel like the biggest winner is Dion Waiters. Goes from 6th man to starter with no pressure from a younger guy to take his spot.

When did Mike Miller go to Clev? I thought another team offered more money and he was leaning that way. What did I miss?

Pretty sure that happened like within a week of Lebron announcing. Ray Allen is still debating joining the Cavs or retiring.

Would love to see Ray Allen lace 'em up for the Cavs. Having his calming influence and maturity in the locker room probably would help a little.
