Fuck Meyer and OSU. What a kick in the balls. Situations like this must make recruiting pretty tough for coaches.

It still perplexes me that Hilliard and Cornell are as tight as they are. They seem like different kids.

Ditto. Living in Ohio is miserable having to listen about them 24/7. It makes me sick.

It's time to move on. This wasn't the first time we've lost a recruiting battle for a 5 star and I guarantee it won't be the last. Bravo to the coaches for doing everything they could possibly do in this recruitment, we definitely can't blame them. Good luck to Justin and I hope he kills it against Michigan

Well for one it's true and I don't think ESPN told the other to say ND is other choice. You're persecution complex is cute though.

I'm confused. If someone chooses OSU over ND, how else would you "say" it?

Anyone who has followed Cornell's recruitment knows that ND backed off on him to the point of pretty much no contact. Out of nowhere he says it's down to OSU and ND. So when he picks OSU tomorrow, ESPN will gladly play ND as a bridesmaid when it's not accurate information.

I have no problem with Hilliard, fwiw. You win some, you lose some. But Cornell's situation is completely different.

ESPN has nothing to do with this.

I don't know how that sneaky bastard does it, but he always seems to slime his way into landing 5* recruits that had his teams 3r, 4th or lower on their lists. He's like a cancer, he just sticks around and sticks around and then spreads.

Jabrill Peppers is my favorite recruit ever because he's one of the few to call Urban on his BS. Peppers had OSU in his top 3, took the trip to OSU and met Urban in the flesh and dropped OSU off his list right after the visit.

As far as Hillard and Cornell go, good luck to them at OSU but I don't think either is a 5* talent.

Cornell ate his way out of that 5* ranking, and while Hilliard is very good, LB is a damn hard position to scout accurately. For me to agree with a LB being rated 5*'s, he better be stupid good in HS like Rueben Foster or Manti Te'o or stupid athletic like Jaylon Smith. Hilliard is neither.

Unfortunately "5 STARZ COMMIT TO URBAN!" is going to give them a huge bang on the recruiting trail. I just threw up in my mouth.

While I don't believe we will land Hilliard tomorrow, I can't wait to see the backtracking of everyone on here if we do. So many people get way to caught up in the drama and add to it. Why not wait 17 hours before we all "move on" or cry in our beers. While it is probable he lands at OSU, it is also possible he lands at ND.

I can agree with you on Cornell not being a 5*, but Hilliard is everything you'd want from a LB. I hope he picks the Buckeyes, if not, good luck to him. He's gonna be a beast regardless of where he goes.

Who was the guy we were recruiting that told a reporter Urban looked like a kid who'd never heard "no" before when he turned him down? Loved that story.

Yeah Hilliard's film is pretty nice. He hits like a throwback LB laying the wood on RB's in the three yards and a cloud of dust offenses of old. He's also pretty nice in coverage too. I am not as concerned about what he decides tomorrow as i am where he ends up. The season always plays a part in these things, at least from ND's perspective, and depending on the product we should be in it until he signs. I know he has done his due diligence, but Kelly will not give up the chase if it doesn't go our way. Just my opinion though.

It's done. Writing has been on the wall for awhile, and ISD just posted an update saying he's headed to OSU. Anything is possible in the Wild West that is recruiting so maybe he sleeps on it and changes his mind, but it's doubtful.

We fought hard and we lost. Is what it is, he's making an informed decision and feels like he fits best at OSU. Only tactical decision you can question is not pushing for Cornell. I think we might have underestimated the package deal thing. Besides that we definitely put our best foot forward.
