Recruiting can be such a crapshoot. We were so bummed when Werner decommitted. Turns out we replaced him with perhaps the best defensive player in college football in JOK.

While JOK is def better than any of OSU's starting linebackers Werner is listed at 239lbs while JOK is at 215. Werner would almost certainly start over our other linebackers, and we have quite a squad of linebackers in their own right.

I believe JOK is up to 220-225 lbs.

Dude needs to wrap up sometimes...drives me crazy a guy with his skill set and doesn’t wrap up. That’s the biggest negative I have seen in his game.

I don't watch a lot of OSU football but what I saw of Werner in '18 and '19 was often times sketch. I would guess had he stuck with ND, he'd have been pretty damn good with Lea pushing his buttons because Werner IS fast.

As far as Wu replacing him. He replaced him as the third future LB in the class but when Werner was involved with ND, there was no Rover yet and that's why Wu was brought in by Elko/Lea once they got to town.

Yeah Werner was the Buck. Maybe Pete plays last year, but Crus is right that it's only 2020 where his play really stepped up. I doubt he really plays over 5th year Tranq in 2018, and who's to say that he really has a great handle on the job last year over the ascending Bilal?

I think it was the year before last where I remember thinking that I sure do see Werner's name a lot on the back of his jersey chasing ball carriers 20+ yards down field...
