Wow... Still a ways to go in this one but have to like where we stand. ND hasn't landed my "favorite" receiver in a class since I've joined. Really hoping for this kid.

Told SBNation Mizzou, OU, & ND
Told Wiltfong MSU, Oregon, & ND.

ND.

It's been Mizzou, OU, and ND forever. Where did MSU and Oregon come from?

I'm thinking there's no way that was the response to who his top three are.

Must've had a disappointing visit elsewhere if we are his top all of a sudden.

Alex and his Dad have been impressed by the staff making him a priority seeing as ND recruits the entire country. Elliott, Denbrock, Kelly and Blake Barnett have been recruiting him hard.

Love this! How could you not want to have Barnett as your QB? I really like Guyton and Sanders also, and if you add Ofodile anything else at WR is gravy.

On top of that, Oklahoma has the 50th rated class with 4 commits, and Missouri literally isn't registered on 24/7 page. They must not have a single commit. #WeAreND

I can't stress enough how much of a coup this would be to land Ofodile. Put aside the fact that he lives near Mizzou.

- Columbia just got its first Catholic high school 2 years ago. The city is not very supportive of Catholic education.

- Rock Bridge does not send many students to ND.

- The football players that do play D1 often go to Mizzou. But in the recent past, Logan Gray and Aaron White went to play at Georgia. Trey Millard went to Oklahoma (hence Oklahoma's being a contender here).

The fact that we're in his top 3 is incredible.

Sounds like Ofodile is backing off his comments or is downplaying them already lol. #Recruiting

That just doesnt sound like a kid that is buying the crystal ball. But, several kids also get sucked into the recruiting game and dont like media reporting everything they say.

Yeah, I refuse to get my hopes up over this. Encouraging? Sure. I'm glad to see that the staff and Blake is putting in work, but at best I could see this coming down to the wire in July or August.

From Wiltfong:

“Kentucky is real close behind those three. They’re real close behind.”

When asked specifically about Missouri and Oklahoma, Ofodile said those two were on the same level as Kentucky.

I like the fact that Barnett is in there fighting for him. After Barajas, I'll trust the staff is handling this the right way.

He definitely seemed to enjoy talking all things ND in his interview with Loy. We get another visit and it wouldn't surprise me if we win this.

It's a good sign when the OU 24/7 insider puts in a CB for ND. And some dude from Kentucky Sports Connection (whatever the hell that is) put in a CB for ND as well.

I'm still skeptical because Rock Bridge traditionally hasn't been a big ND feeder and the coaching staff has connections to OU, Mizzou, and the SEC.

ESPN 300 wide receiver Alex Ofodile also mentioned that portion of the trip as something that stood out.

The coaches talked about how Ohio State can help the athletes after college and in the real world. That was a genuine concern for Ofodile, so he was yet another prospect who came away impressed.

“That was really interesting. Most schools will say that you’ll be taken care of, but they actually showed us how we’re going to be taken care of,” he said. “That was the first one to do that and it’s definitely unique.”

Ofodile plans to see Penn State on June 9, and he will also make it out to Oregon shortly after his visit to Happy Valley.

The four-star receiver plans to narrow his list to a top five and then decide in July, so this visit was very timely for the Buckeyes.

It's true.....Urban really does care about his players and set them up for success after football.

Even while they are in school, he sure knows how to take care of them. 31.......the number of arrests on his watch at Florida. At OSU, I have at least 7 arrests.

How anyone questions this man's father like persona is beyond me.

I was just gonna mentoin Hernandez, but here's another example: Tim Tebow, Urbie milked him for many wins but never prepared him skills and technique-wise to be a professional QB. How is that helping his players after they leave school?

Tebow is a bad example if you're going to Urban-bash (which I otherwise fully support.)

He's articulate, hard working, and a professional by all accounts. Those things are much more solid bets than a potential NFL career.
