Day is going to be a freak. So quick for his size. Joe Schmidt is bigger than I thought. Those are my takeaways.

So… did pretty much every dude that has played Madden think, "oh… I love that play", when they saw this diagram? ha

Not unexpected to see guys have success against the freshman, but Bivin had a really nice looking pass pro rep against Trumbetti. Good base with his hands inside, controlling the chest plates the whole time.

God bless HH and the oline.

I love that play if the slot runs a drag, fading across the middle of the field without going too deep so the safeties can react to the drop down third option. Good catch :)

Randolph definitely looks the part. That was fun to see the coaching going on versus having music over the top. Fuller is just plan quick and fast. He's going to be a nightmare for DB's to stay with. Is this the fastest group of WR's we've fielded in awhile. Brown, Fuller, and Daniels are very fast guys. The deep ball to Robinson was beautiful. Because there is so much going on with new faces and new schemes this has been one of the more enjoyable springs. Will that mean an enjoyable fall, we'll see.

I love Day and he is a really good player. But, I can't get to excited because he never has stayed healthy.

Day has the ceiling of Aaron Donald and that is who he reminds me of. I am not saying he is there yet, but he definitely has that quick step and is more of 3t who 1 gaps and less of a 5t who 2 gaps

Exactly. IMO, Day will benefit the most in this move to a 4-3. Its his natural position.

Same. I'm praying for a year of healthy bodies. Maybe the "stache" has some sort of magic that will keep our guys healthy?

My thoughts too.

I'm a koolaide drinking bastard right now.

Just to tie it all together, BVG presents a great interview because he is so straight-forward, and down to earth. He doesn't have a bad bone in his body. But he is a warrior. First day of basic, after we were done with the troop handlers, the DI's introduced themselves, by coming through minutes before revile throwing the 55 gallon trash barrels against the concrete supports of the squad bay and knocking over entire bunk beds. BVG does the same sort of thing at practice. You can hear it.

And speaking of hearing it, that chuckle of Chris Brown's at the end of the last video said it all. That, Fuller cleaning up on catches, and BK coaching Corey Robinson with a smile on his face all are significant as to changes in the paradigm of this team.

I like that we have four tough coaches, (at least), the trenches, with Harry and Mike Elston, and both coordinators. Denbrock represented himself particularly well to me as a surprise, and BVG everyone has discussed. The reason I mention these four is because it pushes the culture of the ND team, program, and player, into the trenches, a bit more "blue-collar" if you will (common helps the tough and the fan base appeal), and away from the "cult of the personality; More team, less prima donna.

I always have been a fan of more players contributing at this level and, voila! BVG has packages employing everyone less Ryan Grooms; and Denbrock has a whole stable of young wide receivers, three pur-T good running backs, and maybe even two quarterbacks ready to contribute when in years past, when applying the same metric, ND has actually had none.

Chris Brown is going to have a big year.

I hope so. My homerism is kicking in and I want to see some more South Carolina boys take ND to the top. I thought he could be electric (I watched him a lot in person at his high school gmaes). Also got to see Golson play a few times.

If you are talking Bivin (70) against 89 from the Saturday video, it was Matuska, where Trumbetti is 98. I only bring that up because Matuska has been looking kind of manly lately. Strong, and maybe ready for a few snaps. There is talk that he may be backing up a 3-gap inside. Did I get that right?

Doug Randolph is huge!

Was that GB at 2:50 of the practice report? I couldn't tell who it was since he had his jersey rolled all the way up.

Shoot, it must have been Matuska. I knew it was a combination of 8 and 9 at least. Either way, an impressive 4-second clip for Bivin. He would've handled many a d-lineman, regardless of skill, with that technique.

I'm pretty certain that was him. He's had a few nice reps catching passes so far this spring. Nice routes and sure hands... it will be nice to have three RBs that can each do it all.
